GIISAMMen’s Rain Jacket with Hood Lightweight Rain Coats Waterproof Raincoat Packable Windbreaker for Hiking Cycling

The GIISAM Men's Rain Jacket is exactly what I was looking for, a lightweight jacket to keep the rain and moisture out. I have another waterproof jacket that is felt lined, looks nice but is hot. I am a warm weather person so typically in the desert or tropics when it rains, warm to hot temperatures, I want to stay dry not keep warm, this jacket works perfectly for that. Also since it is so lightweight it folds/rolls up small enough to fit in the matching bag and does not take up a lot of room.My first observation was that the zipper on this jacket has a flap, with Velcro to keep it in place, zippers can allow moisture in but not with this system. The sleeves have elastic at the wrist, the bottom and hood a drawstring, and snaps at the top of the front zipper to keep the rain out. The hood can be rolled and hidden under the collar if you don’t want to use it, I suppose if you are wearing a hat you may not want the hood.This is described as men’s jacket and me being not that worried about looking girly in the rain, I have found mens jackets are usually more durable than women’s. I ordered a size 2X from the measurements in the size chart and that is typically the women’s size I wear. It fits but tight, I should have ordered the next size up to allow for wearing sweaters or heavier clothes underneath.I am pleased with this jacket being very lightweight, that it does keep the moisture out and how well made it seems to be. The price is not unreasonable if it holds up for at least a couple seasons. I do recommend this jacket.

Received the product quickly, and it was well packaged. The jacket itself is functional with a front zipper and several Velcro contacts along the front to insure a tight seal to keep water and wind out. It does have a hood with drawstrings to keep the hood securely on your head in windy conditions. The GISAM rain jacket well made and I believe it will keep out the water well. I wanted a light rain jacket to keep in my car for traveling/summer camping and also for when I am at outdoor events or concerts. About the size, I am 6/2", 225 lbs, with an athletic build and I ordered the X-large. It fit more like an XXL - so it is very baggy on me. I would recommend sizing it one size smaller unless you are layering and need the extra room. A couple suggestions to make the product a little bit better would be either locking drawstrings or Velcro on the sleeves to create a tighter seal around your wrists to keep out wind (it has elastics). It came with a carrying bag and I found folding and then rolling the jacket up was a cinch. When the jacket is in it's bag it is small and extremely portable - would fit great in your luggage, camping backpack, or in your car. I would not recommend this rain jacket for use if you are a motorcycle rider and that is not it's intended purpose either. Overall a great option just wish it was more true to size.

It's super waterproof enough, but packs down really really small. It fits me well, and is comfortable enough.I'm definitely throwing this in my search and rescue summer gear, for times when there's just a chance of intermittent rain, especially in the day time. I think I'd still go fancier if I might need to really schlep through serious rain, but for a light short rain? This is tiny, and cheap, and it will absolutely work.

This is a good rain jacket if you’re looking for something lightweight. I wouldn’t consider it to be warm but it keeps you dry. I love that it packs away it it’s own little pouch. That makes it perfect to keep in the car and it doesn’t take up room in a coat closet.

it appears to be very thin but we will see how it holds up in the rain.Bought it for my 15 year old son.Will return for a more thorough review

I ordered this for my husband, as he travels a good bit for work and having something lightweight that he can pack into his suitcase without taking up much space was important. This is perfect! He is a true medium and it fit him perfectly, if anything maybe a bit larger, but better to be a bit bigger than too small in my opinion. The army green is really pretty and true to the image online. It is very thin, so this isn't something you would want to wear by itself in the cold, but perfect to throw on when taking the dogs out or when caught in a rain shower. The bag to fold it into is always a nice touch, but I know we won't really ever use it, but that's just personal preference. I am really glad I ordered this and would recommend it to others - especially those who travel or need something that doesn't take up much space!

This is a pretty good shell and for the money you can buy four of them for the cost of a single namebrand shell that may or may not be worth it. So far it’s done a great job keeping the rain off and cuts the wind pretty good. I would call it more water resistant than waterproof though, but most lightweight shells are like that. I like the drawstring at the bottom that keeps air from coming up at you, but I don’t like the cuffs which are elastic cups and not very comfortable, I prefer drawstring cuffs or Velcro cuffs that you adjusted. If you need to tighten them to keep the wind out I’ve never liked the elastic style on the sleeves or on the bottom. I just find it odd this has it on the sleeve, but not on the hymn.

This is a good jacket for rain- I picked my normal size and it is bigger than I expected (I forgot to look at measurements), but it will work well for wearing over heavy clothing. Buttons seem to be on tight and it held up well to being washed. It packs down into the included bag to easily stash in a backpack or hang off of the straps.
