Sony SAL-16F28 16mm f/2.8 Fisheye Lens for Sony Alpha Digital SLR Camera

Awesome Price, good quality product. I'm usually skeptical about deals like this. I was surprised at the quality for the cheap price. I figured for the price on the "kit" and the lens it would cost double for the lens alone. The Sony website (at time of this review) doesn't offer this lens kit. And if it did it would be 300-400.00. I figured if the kit was sub-par I wouldn't use it or would sell it on Craigslist. The kit has been a added bonus to a great Sony lens! Great products!!!! Fast shipping!.... Recommended!!

Its a great deal for this lens, however I do not think that it is new. It is probably used or refurbished because it did not come in an original box, and if that's true it feels like false advertisement, but I cannot dispute it really. Lens works, no scratches, great price. Everything else is kinda cheap and I didn't want any of it. Shipped pretty fast as well.

The optics on this lens seem very good. I wondered how much it would differ from the 16mm end of the 16-35 zoom. I found you need to look at the field of view to understand the difference. This lens gives a 180 field of view and is a true fish eye. A nice addition to my kit.

I shoot a Sony a900 full frame camera,so the first thing I look for is the lens that will perform the best with my camera. I was at my sisters place on the lake in northern MN. and using the Sony sal-16f28 for the first time. This lens was way beyond my expectations of what it could do. The color and clarity was all the way to the edges and the sharpness was perfect. I took a picture of the whole lake with no distortion . It was like taking a panoramic picture. I was blown away and will be using this lens much more than I had planned to. I also use the 70-400 Sony lens,the 16-35 Sony lens and the 24-70 sony lens. I have covered most areas with these very high quality lenses and I am not disappointed in this fisheye lens one bit. Its worth the price if you want the high quality of sharpness and color that Sony is well known for.

I purchased a different brand of fish eye lens last year and I was just not happy with it so I returned it. This lens however is great. Sharp photos with very little distortion at the edges. I keep this lens permanently attached to my Sony A230, and I use my Sony A77 for all other shots.

its a pretty good deal what you get here. the lense is awsome and what you get for the price... its a steal. only problem is that the lense does not come with its original case, but really? does the case really matter when you are paying way less? nope.

Yes there are better lenses out there. But for the price of this lens you cant go wrong. Got this for my NEX-C3 and now I am able to fit it into my jacket pocket while walking around, wasn't able to do that with my 18-55 kit lens. Great option for casual compact shooting on a budget.

I was initially looking just for the 16mm lens for my NEX. The lens itself costs about $240!However, i got it with accessories I needed for much less price!Love it!
