My primary requirement: It is easy to open with one hand. This works great, just pull the release bar slightly to the middle of the gate to release. Easy to pull the release bar, and the gate has not come open once by accident. It was well packed. Easy to assemble. Keeps cats contained. Lock engages securely every time. Seems very sturdy, good welding, etc. Nice smooth surface finish, looks good and not "cheap". Has not moved since installation. I thought I'd have to use a shower bar mount or similar to keep it from moving, but it keeps plenty of pressure on the wall and hasn't moved at all. The auto-close feature has worked just as expected. And it always latches shut. I've had it ~9 weeks so far and can't really think of how it could be better. Just walked through and was so pleased I decided to write this review.

I am using this in leu of a porch gate-since I'm a renter and I want to keep my dog on the porch. She doesn't attempt to climb/hop over it since I've trained her on boundaries. She'd easily hop over it if she really wanted to- but it's heavy duty and was easy to assemble. I felt like the latches at the handle and bottom were a lil misaligned and it sometimes tricky to get perfectly shut. I feel like that could be a better design, but I am overall happy with the product. It's living on covered porch in Appalachia so after a few months, I've begun to notice rusting on the folding hinges and some screws. I hope this product lasts!

Pugs are, well...little terrors. Sweet, sloppy, clown-like, adorable, love-soaked TERRORS. Well, last year we tried the plastic mesh stuff on the front porch. The fatter one, let's call him Chubster, well he barks up a freakin fit at an Amazon delivery truck that comes into the driveway (about 9 times a day) and goes a** over tea kettle right across the plastic mesh and into the garden bed next to the driveway. I think he was so spooked that he gave up on the Amazon truck and just stood there frozen, embarrassed, horrified, until I came and picked him, brushed him off, and brought him inside to eat 5 niblets of chicken jerky and forget about the whole thing. Welp, not this year, my lumpy friend! These metal fence panels are AWESOME! Additional sections connect easily, they are relatively sturdy (at least for little mildly demonic dogs), and adjust position perfectly so you can plop them in any space you need to. Highly recommend!

This gate has a sturdy metal frame. The gaps between bars are too large for my kitten as he can get through but this gate would probably be okay for smaller dogs and some older cats.

Seems solid and will fit in the place I intend it for. Needed something at top of stairs that have a code-compliant railing, which gets in the way of simpler solutions, like wall-wall baby gates.Because of my quirky situation, I want the door part to open towards the middle instead of off to the side, but looks like I can easily swap that out with std tools. Right now considering it a 5. Will update if anything goes amiss.UPDATE: Discovered that the hinges are put on with pop-rivets, so will not be as easily modifiable as I thought. Though I hadn't thought about gate orientation at the start, it would have been nice to have configuration options. It's obvious the different size versions are constructed of stock pieces, so it shouldn't be a big deal to put them together one way or another, but I can see how that would complicate the ordering process. I actually tried to check out their website so see if that had more flexibility there, but looks like they don't have one.Another discovery is that these work fine if you surface is flat, but my deck varies a bit (as decks do) in the orientation I ultimately want (notice the picture is canted from the wall). If on unlevel, the gate operation gets funky. Adjustable feet would be nice, but likely not often needed, so I can see why not offered. However the frame tubes are hollow and standard size and (surprise!) you can find leveling feet that fit elsewhere on Amazon. I have some on order and will report back once I can try them out.In spite of the update quirks, still keeping the rating at 5. For what it is, it does it well so far.

We've tried lots of different kinds of gates for our dog over the years. She likes to try to dig her way out of our wooden doorways, acting like a wood chipper! I've also put many holes and wall anchors and spackle patches in walls of our houses over the years. We finally found this gate and it fits the bill! It’s made of solid metal, is freestanding and very stable with the included feet. And the best part is, it reaches all the way across our door opening, which is 10 feet wide! and it doesn’t need to be connected to the walls by screws or pressure, so I can fold it up and hide it away when it’s not needed.I misunderstood the directions when assembling it, which incidentally is very easy, and the seller emailed me back that night! He was very helpful and accommodating, and even sent a photograph to help me.if you’re looking for a stable, easy-to-assemble freestanding gate for your pet, this one is worth every penny. Don’t hesitate.

We liked this fence so much we ended up buying a total of three. One was a tall 8 panel and we created a nice size entry zone inside around the front door, so no more worries about the dogs running out of the house by accident, and we can enter without being happily bowled over, it’s great! We like the quality of the material, the ease of assembly, and the style of the latch. They look great, are sturdy, and have a nice weight. The money spent was worth it, a good product that solved a few problems. I wasn’t paid for the review and I didn’t get free product (would be nice, ha!).
