Kreg DIYKIT DIY Project Kit

This one wax bought as s gift but since s pocket hole was included in my rip cut kit I'll leave my feedback here.It works really well. I used s regular standard clamp and it held beautifully for my drilling. I like that the measurements are located inside the case. Pay close attention to those they ate important. The adjustable collar is awesome and really does help you to set up your drill bit correctly. I learned fairly quickly while making garden beds, that if not set correctly you will find blue shavings, after each hole you still. This is not good since you are stripping the hard plastic of the R3. It's as imply fix, adjust the collar so you are not going in too deep.It is fairly easy to set up and start using right way. Directions are clear and will guide you on what is soft and which woods are hard wood as it willMake a difference on which threaded screw you'll use. I cannot wait to gift to my father in law. 😀It is definitely a must have for stronger & even joints for any project. Ive only made 4 garden beds so far but very happy with my results so far.I rely on reviews for all my purchases I hope you find mine helpful. I'll add more photos when rain lets up.

When planning my project I considered getting the pocket hole jig and saw jig only but when priced out, this kit was a great bargain. I love the pocket hole jig as it was well made and the shelf pin hole jig was a bonus and equally well made. The instructions were easy to follow and these jigs required very little skill to achieve the best results. The handy storage box was a welcome way to keep my work space clean and organized. The saw guide was very useful for making clean straight cuts under 24 inches wide. I found that a bit higher level of skill was required to get an even cut with the saw guide as it did have a bit of flex to it. Switching from my old dull blade made a huge difference so your experience may vary. Working with the saw guide improved greatly when I used a new sharp saw blade and ensured the guide was flat throughout the entire cut.

Shortly after catching me watching an infomercial on Kreg products I was happily surprised when it showed up at my house. This was two years ago and I have completed several projects with this product. My favorite piece is the pocket hole jig, but it is also why I knock off a star. It needs to be clamped down solidly or it will move during use, this is not the problem that just makes sense. What bothers me, though is that the platform on it intended for the clamp, seems specifically designed for Kreg's clamp, and is not intended for others. It's not exactly a proprietary connection only, but it is also not exactly universal. That said I have been able to work around that, and overall I love this product and it is definitely worth the money.

Amazing product. I am an avid wood worker. I purchased this product because I saw the product video ad for building the closet organizer. It was simple to use and the plans were great. It is so simple even a novice could do it. We did a full custom closet that would have cost 3500 dollars as per 2 estimates for 750. It turned out perfect.

I thought the Rip-Cut guide would help me make straighter cuts with my circular saw but, unfortunately it did not work for me. The plastic base that holds the saw in place failed to do just that with my saw. The screws that are used to hold the saw securely on the plastic piece utilize friction to do so and did not stay tight on the base of my saw. In addition, once the saw is attached to the plastic piece, it has to be slid onto the metal guide, which I found to be a bear to accomplish. My the time I worked the saw/plastic base combo into position on the guide, the saw had worked it's way loose from the plastic base. Finally, when I was able to practice a few cuts, I noticed that the plastic part that keeps the guide aligned with the wood is actually too short and you end up cutting the last few inches by guesswork since you really can't see the blade very well when attached to the plastic base.I cannot give a review of the Kreg R3 or Shelf Pin jig because after having no luck with the Rip-Cut, I have decided to send the kit back. My plan is to buy those components separately and try them. I have the Kreg Mini jig and like it real well but, I wanted to upgrade to the R3. Hopefully, it works as well, if not better than the Mini. Plus, I am looking forward to trying out the Shelf Pin jig.

Saw this kit on an infomercial. It inspired me to take on at least three projects I was thinking about. With it I was able to:Drill 205 perfect pocket holes for screws.Cut down 5- 4X8 sheets of ply wood with a skill saw.Drill 830 perfectly placed holes for adjustable shelving.I was able to do all this in a about ten hours along with hanging the cabinets on the wall and securing them. All by myself. Without the kit I would never have ventured to do it.I used these tools with the kit.A Makita 7 1/4 circular saw.Dewalt 20v Impact driver and drill. Both brushless and amazing.Some levels and saw horses.I also used a foam pad bought at Home Depot to lay the ply wood sheets on to cut. It was a soft foam pad because I could find a good rigid one for cheap. It worked very well.Enjoyed the tools so far. Have more projects planned already. Just need to finish cleaning up after the first. Also I do not work with wood on a normal basis. So far the three people that have seen it can't believe that. It will make a normal person look like a professional cabinet maker.

I bought this kit for the saw guide and it works great. Festool makes something similar at 10X the price and it does not work 10X better! This guide has paid for itself in the first few cuts - would recommend it to anyone who needs to cut straight lines.

I am extreamly impressed with kreg tools. This was my first time using them. I am by no means a skilled carpenter or wood worker. My tools are for the most part, entry level.I am going to start of with the rip cut. It attached to my mastercraft skill saw with ease. The detailed instructions for installation were easy to understand and follow. Cuts straight, and easy to use. My only complaint with it is that once you take the base off the saw you will have to re align everything.Pocket screw jig. Small compact good for a hobbiest. Comes with everything you need to start drilling holes. Again detailed instructions are easy to follow and understand. They have a gauge for you to follow when attaching material, but it only works for joining material of the same thickness. I was able to play around with depth of jig and bit stopper to attch 1/2 and 5/8 with a 1 in screw. Maybe thats something they can work on and play with. Fast, accurate, and very strong joinery.Shelf jig is made of the same quality of the pocket hole jig. I had origionaly posted that it did not come with a bit, i was wrong it does. My two year old grabed the packaging containing the bit, found it later. Still havent used it but i dont expect i will be disapointed.So all and all i still think this was a worth while buy. Helped me get my custom 7' long dresser done. As an amature these tools do really help if used properly.

Shipped fast and product was exactly as described. This set is all around awesome and will make building shelves and whatever else a piece of cake.

Still getting use to it but great value
