These books are useless as to download the app to use you risk damage to your phone. It warns this before you download app

This product sounds very interesting at 1st glance, especially if you have researched it. The problem is, its been superseded by colour alive 2.0. Colour alive 2.0 app doesn't work with the original and the original app is no longer available. This means that all you can do is colour in. Makes the product a worthless piece of rubbish and a big disappointment to any child looking forward to using the feature.

The Crayola Color Alive is an amazing innovation to coloring. My kids LOVE their technology, but I miss watching them simply color and draw. This product is an awesome combination of the 2. I bought this for my 3 year old daughter and she loves it. She gets to color awesome pictures of great fantasy characters and the best part is, they come to life on my tablet. Yes, you have to download an app from the app store, but it is free. It did not work on my daughter's RCA Voyager 2 Tablet but, it worked fine on my Asus Notepad 10. It is really quite neat to watch dragons, heroic knights, and other mythical beasts jump off the page. Once you get the character scanned and bring them to life, you can place them on a shelf or have them sit on your hand (that's what my daughter did).The book comes with a set of 7 crayons, 1 of which is a special Fire Breath crayon. The Fire breath Crayon is part of the special effects that come alive with the app. She can use her other crayons or markers on the pages as well. I think it is absolutely amazing that not only do the creatures come to life, but the colors that you color them with are actually the colors that come to life as well.The only complaint I have is that there needs to be more pages. There are 16 pages to color, and each page has a different picture. I appreciate the absence of duplicates. Other than that, this is a great item.

My son (6 y.o.) and I LOVE this product. It is so much fun to color and then watch the dragon and other creatures come to life. My son has always HATED to color. This is the first time he has ever been excited to color....going back and buying the Skylanders version. I hope they plan to make more of these.

Do not buy! This app is not available anymore but Crayola is still selling the original coloring books. My son waited for this book, colored his heart out and then we could’t find the app. Shame on Crayola! I thought they were a better company than that.

Love how the picture captured by the phone doesn't pick up the scribbled outside the lines part of the image. Getting to the part where you see the animation takes a minute though. Very fun regardless.
