Over-priced
These headphones are way over-priced at $35. I looked up my order invoice on Amazon and in January of 2012 I paid $8.28 for this exact same model. Now that was then, I know, and maybe I caught some sort of deal at the time, but a fairer price would be around $12 or so, though they are of the better small-size, light-weight cans out there. The sound quality is pretty good, though lacking in bass as most small headphones do. That said, if you crank up the volume too much for too long, you will damage the speakers to the point that won't sound quite the same again. I've had three pair of these units and this is what happened each time I occasionally wanted to hear something loud. Now I'm down to two pair--both of which unable to play moderately loud tunes. These cans are fairly durable in regards to accidentally sitting on them, for example, and they do fit comfortably on my head without making my ears hurt. Some will say they fit too loose. Maybe, but I prefer loose-fitting, on-ear headphones since they won't hurt my ears. Even with the over-the-ear units I have of a different make, I prefer them to be a little loose and not uncomfortable. The cord on one side only is nice too. Anymore it's hard to find small headphones with just one cord exiting an ear cup--usually the left one. If not for the higher price, I would keep on buying them, but now I have to shop around for others. So, minus a star for Sony jacking up the price so much and minus another for the speakers not being able to handle much volume. I know Sony makes good-sounding headphones, both on-ear and over-the-ear, but they priced me out of these MDR-210's now. Don't bother with the MDR-110's. Those are simply awful.

Excellent value; cord too long
Compared to the similarly-styled MDR-110 LPs, the bass response in these open-air headphones is a bit deeper. Overall, for a $10 pair of headphones the sound quality is pretty decent. Not as full of a sound as a $100 pair of studio or noise-canceling headphones, but a huge improvement over the freebies that the airlines dish out.Comfort-wise, after a two-hour bike ride, I still don't feel like I'm wearing anything and my ears are not sore (unless I play my music too loud). These headphones don't block outside noises that much, which is a good thing for me when I'm on the bicycle and want to hear approaching traffic. However, these headphones will not do a good job of blocking out indoor gym noise. The only major drawback for me is the extra-long cord. Who needs 5'? The extra length might be beneficial for some settings, like an office, where you don't want to feel so tethered. However since I use them exclusively for working out, and the excessive cordage just gets in the way. I found that a paper clip helps.Overall, a decent pair of headphones for casual listening, or for working out.

Good Construction Good Sound For The Money
The MDR-210LP Headphones are well made and are a good deal for the price. They adjusted to fit my head with no problems I got a pair of Sony MDR-51LP headphones several years ago which cost $40-$60 and I wanted to get another pair of Sony headphones as a spare. The MDR210LP are not bad headphones and sound good. The MDR-51 headphones were made in Japan and in my opinion are superior. They are louder cleaner and crisper than the MDR-210LP. I conducted my tested using both pairs of headphones one set at a time on the same device with the same song playing at the same volume. Of course at today's prices the MDR-51LP Headphones would probably cost over $100.

Nice earphones
I've been using these for years. Getting hard to come by, and they're a little expensive too. I use these (nightly) while I sleep - so it is imperative that I have slim-line headsets. I usually have to replace my headsets every year and half or so.

GOOD QUALITY & WELL MADE HEADPHONES!!!!
I like it & glad i bought it .. I have small/portable Lightweight walkman radio..I use it when going for long walk in mornings or in afternoons, usualy Listen to 80s music & mornings talk shows ...real nice clean sound,WELL of course depends on the power of FM/AM radio stations in your local area! BUT is very light & Comfortable, put me back in those good o days in 80s/90s with those walkman headphones they used to make.BUT...The only thing i hate about this, in streets when cars pass by or some noise here or there..Have to turn the volume up and down conceitedly, it gets annoying after while ..it don't block any noise AT ALL even a bit ,But after all is only $10 so don't expect that much of it .. but made in good quality & sturdy!

Love these headpones
I listen to books on tape all the time (or it was tape, then CDs and now it's an MP3 player but suffice I listen to books). Because I frequently have to take the headphones off and hang them on my neck throughout the day when somebody is talking to me, it's much easier to use these headphones that only have a chord on one side then it is to have two chords to deal with. They last so long I have to order extra pads to replace them periodically as they eventually tear from the wear and tear.

decent pair of light-weight headphones
These headphones aren't great sounding but they're very good for the price. They are light-weight, have a 5' cord, come with a 1/4" adapter, and have the headphone wire going into the left earpiece only (the wire runs through the headband, avoiding having to wire both the left and right earpieces from the usual spots).Overall I like these. I use them at work at my desk and a 3' cord was a bit too short to move around my desk without yanking my old headphones (also Sony) off my head. I'd recommend these for the price/performance balance.

Cord makes the difference
I've used this model of phones for audiobooks & movies for several years now and consider them a terrific bargain. For the money the sound is just fine and "open air" phones are far superior to other types for simple comfort. The real sweet factor here is that this model only has one cord coming out of one side of the earphone. This is something you would expect from a quality earphone (I have two expensive Sennheisers for classical music and know a good set when I hear it). One person found the cord too long: to each his own. What I like is that one cord headphones don't get tangled wires which every set of two cord cheap phones I've owned has been plagued by. If you're a serious classical music listener, get out your checkbook. For general use this is a great product.

Sony MDR 210LP Headphones
The headphones are good and at under £9.00 you cant go wrong with these...The sound and build are very good and i would have given it 5 star but for the length of cable, only 1 and half mtr....far too short if you plug into back of computer. It aslo comes with two plugs...small one for computers..and the old type big one used in the Hi-Fi of 30 years ago...Just a pity they dont put the same amount of cable on them...as they did..30 years ago.

Bon produit
