Hung 4 these shades off my balcony which is awesome past noon the sun beats the balcony. So this is a nice option to provide shade when you want to be on the balcony to enjoy a cigar or grilling some food or do some gardening.

The first dramatic design change in the traditional 'bamboo blind' that hung on the patio of EVERY home I ever lived in since the 1960s, this change, with a little adapting to my situation, is very nice I find, so far. We'll see about durability after a season or two. I have never taken down my blinds in the winter as my patio gets year-round sun in the afternoon. The plastic 'bamboo' blind I just threw out lasted 3 seasons before it began to crumble. As you can see, I didn't have a wood frame to work with, and drilling holes in my stucco exterior wasn't practical, but I'm happy with this set-up. Think outside your box!

The hardware is garbage: plastic clips and the screws are very low quality. The one I bought last year (8’x6’) had metal clips with better quality screws. The shade itself, is awesome! It blocks the sun and even light rain, which was a plus for our needs.

We were skeptical at 1st when purchased but they keep the sun out yet you can still make out cars and people through it. We bought 2 10 foot blinds and can only say why didn't we do this 10 years ago? Our utility bill had gone down. Very happy with this product. Easy to hang easy to use. The only thing I dislike is the crank. I'd rather have the string like bamboo blinds than crank the blinds. Please note they are not difficult to crank. I just think if you have guests and go to lower or raise them and start cranking, it appears tacky. That's all though and we usually have our blinds down every day unless it's raining or windy.

If I could zero stars I would. The instructions are so vague it is impossible to follow, and the graphics are so small there’s no way you can follow. All materials are cheap and plastic. I so wanted this to work and it was a giant let down. My son who is a genius at putting anything together gave up on it after 2 hours of trying to put it together for his mom. Good kid horrible product.

I should have reviewed these sooner, but I have now had the summer months to use them. Beautiful coloring, well-made, really blocks out the sun, and handle well in winds. I do close them if strong wind is forecast.

I bought 2 sets. Both were missing set screws and allen wrenches.

Have purchased two of these over 3 years. Strong and colorfast-good retracting system. Using these on porches to block afternoon sunlight- very effective and trouble free.
