It works great as a sun umbrella! It's a thick material and the reflectiveness keeps the sun from peeking through, great for being outside and not wanting to get sunburnt! I bought this as sun protection and not as rain umbrella so I can't say how it works in the rain, but I imagine just as well as any other umbrella. It's easy to open and close and has a little button, and it's compact when folded so good for putting in a purse and carrying with you.

Love the umbrella. It works great and keeps the sun out. That’s helpful at kids sports or recess duty for a teacher where there is no shade. It was heavier than I wanted, but I will keep it.

I could really tell the difference using it while walking in high heat weather like upper 90s. The material seems thick and was good at blacking out. I was not as sweaty. It seems to be built pretty sturdy.

Nice thick material. Repels sunlight well. Normal weight for an umbrella. Snaps back quickly in heavy wind. Very happy with this purchase!

Conveniently small size and gets the job done. However, the strap weakens and eventually stops closing. Also, it's not designed to last too many daily uses nor is it as "wind-proof" as the description says (it blows inside-out quite often). Still, a great way to stay cool.

Defective, very disappointing after waiting several days to receive this item. Sending back. Had video but Amazon won’t let me upload it. Opens up then immediately collapses / doesn’t allow you to manually open it.

I guess it works in a way, it does technically give you shade HOWEVER if there is any wind at all it will not work out, I had to close it up if I was walking into the slightest breeze because it would bend backwards.It's easy to close and I like that it's small and light enough to just toss in my bag.I would not personally purchase this again.
