This is for us curly girls
I had been straightening my hair for 21 years.I had finally had enough and decided to go back to my curls.However, my curls were so stringy. They looked awful.I had several ladies who do the “curly girl method “ tell me to get this.Brushing curly hair with this brush when still wet helps to dry the curls and keep them from becoming stringy.It worked like magic!

Holy grail for 3a/3b curls
Where was this product my whole life!? I don't know what it is about this brush, but it gives my 3a/3b hair beautiful ringlets! It is now in my holy grail of curly hair products. Also, it's very easy to get the hairs out which is a huge bonus.How I use it-Only on wet hair! I don't use this to detangle, but to make sure my hair product is evenly distributed. After I put my product on my damp/ wet hair, I brush my hair upside down. scrunch, twist or style your curls as usual and voila- beautiful curls!

Wrong product
Product is not as described. Received a completely different product and I’m not even sure if it’s a real denman brush, I think the seller might’ve put a different brush in the Denman box. I wouldn’t be so upset about it if I could actually use it, but I have thick, curly hair and the boar bristle brush I recidved would just frizz up my hair. Anyway, what sucks is I can’t even return so basically just wasted my money on this purchase.Will edit review if this can be resolved but do not recommend purchasing based on my own experience thus far.

Handle broke on first use
I had heard so many good things about this brush and I am really disappointed.I had conditioner in my hair and had gone through it with a wide-tooth comb. I then tried the Denman brush. I had my hair divided into small sections. The brush glided through the first section like a knife through butter and I was so happy. During my first pass in the next section the handle broke. These seem to break in the exact same place.

Hollow handle - Breaks easily - The bristles themselves are great.
It broke at the dip. The handle is hollow. For a brush it's great, but it's not as sturdy. My hands are small, so using the broken part seems a bit easier for me, but I am not sure about others. If you get this, and you have a similar brush, maybe just swap it out to a sturdier brush. I can't believe I am now just thinking about this... Why didn't I just do that... Lol. I will bump rating to 4. But my real rating is 3.5.Okay I just tried the different brush thing. Doesn't work. You can MAKE it work by cutting it, but that's a lot of trial and error. If you wanna do that, go ahead. Or you can try to get a different brush by them, and see if that works, and let us all know. Maybe the other brushes are sturdier. I have a cheap knock off brush that was great, but, the bristles were a bit too hard.Things you may not know:-You can clean the brush. like REALLY clean it.- You can take out the bristles.- you can take out the cushion.- The cushion is like this foam plushy goodness, not hard like hard plastic.- Bristles are the bomb- handle is hollow all the way down- handle should have been solid.

I'd give it 4.5
Don't grab it by the handle and expect it clear out 4c hair without snapping and this bush will serve you well. I have really coarse, dry, 4C hair and in my journey to keep it hydrate and under manipulated, this has been one of my favorite weapons. I use it with a head full of conditioner with extra slip-- I use Cantu leave-in but I wash it out then Knot today as a leave in.(I gave it 4 stars because I have broken 2 over a 18mo span. Once at the handle but the second time was the red bit; bristles detached from the body on the brush.)

Perfect for this Curly Girl
Curly hair girl. I can put conditioner in my thick, curly hair and use this in the shower to detangle and define curls. Good results. Doesn’t hurt, doesn’t pull out a bunch of hair, smooth on scalp, and does what I need it to do. It’s easy to clean. I don’t brush my hair when dry so can’t make any assertions about it’s use for that. Some people have commented the handle has broken on theirs, but I’ve accudentally dropped mine and also have used it to get through thick, thick hair. Looks good as new. Would recommend.

Brush Arrived Dirty with Torn Packaging; Tried to Clean and Broke Immediately
The packaging was open and and torn when I received the brush and the brush head itself was dirty - covered in dust and other flecks. It also appeared the the base of the head was pushed down too far on the brush, so I looked up how to modify the brush so that I could remove a few rows, clean the brush head of the dust, and put the base back into its proper place. But as soon as I tried to push the base off the handle snapped. I am not a very strong person and I wasn't even using my full strength - just putting a little pressure to try and get the base off. So disappointed in the fulfillment of this product. I will not be buying from Gem products again.

Works well on Afro hair
This is strong and well made, easy to clean, good quality. I’m Using this for my childrens Afro hair. The plastic stems can be a bit hard and can scratch their scalp but there is little or no damage to hair. It’s best used to comb out the ends of the hair. I have previously bought the 9 row brush but I do prefer this 7 row for Afro hair detangling. I am still on the look out for the perfect brush for Afro hair.

A Denman brush is a good brush :)
This may be premature as I haven't used it yet but I love a Denman brush for helping with closing my cuticles. This arrived within a few days of ordering which was a pleasant surprise. I loved my previous Denman, but it had closer bristles and I found it was a challenge when my very tightly curled hair was tangled so I bought this with wider spaced bristled. I will update only if I'm having a negative experience.

Best Brush For Curls!
This is the only brush I use on my very curly hair (obviously only when conditioning!). It glides through my 3c hair and clumps it beautifully. I have been using the D4 for the past 15yrs but this is even better due to the wider spaced combs. Highly recommended!

Good quality.
Lovely brush easy to use and replaces a cheap plastic one which had lost most of its bristles.I am sure will last a lifetime. Good make and excellent quality.

A very good brush! However it is hard. UPDATE I have to say after using it over a month this is one of the BEST brushes!

Denman is the man!
Love denman brushes. I only ever buy denman. They are solid and last. I only ever have to replace them because i loose them all the time. I even have the denman keyring which is so cute and pretty good for the size

Very happy
This is a great brush for afro hair in general as there is good spacing between the bristles. I have the D3 which just pulls my hair out and after a bit of research found out that this brush is more appropriate for afro hair. However you still need to be gentle and perhaps detangle with a wide tooth comb before launching in soley with this brush but.... yes I like it.very pleased with the purchase and with the quickness of delivery by the seller!Thanks
