Q: I cannot hook the steel rod hook to the lever extension hole. Please tell me what I might be doing wrong.

We had the same problem. If you cannot put the steel rod on the lever extension hole, then unscrew the lever extension screw and adjust the lever extension until you can get the hook in and then push the extension up and retighten the extension screw.
