Perfect for short trips and day hikes — lightweight and comfortable
I use this backpack for day hikes, camping, and short trips, and it’s been a great buy. The size and storage space are just right for what I need, and the wide straps make it extremely comfortable to wear for hours. It’s lightweight and easy to pack down, which is great for travel. While it’s not very water-resistant (I found that out during a river float), that’s not a dealbreaker for me given how affordable and functional it is overall. No complaints — it’s served me well in every situation so far.

Bought this for my Yellowstone trip and it did not disappoint! Easy to travel with in my bag as it folds up so compact. Has a lot of pockets for different needs and a great material. Highly recommend for hiking!! The straps with comfortable in my shoulders and adjustable length.

Missed 5 stars by just a bit; 4.5 overall
I have been looking for a packable backpack to take on trips or short day excursions. My 60-yr old Coleman day packs finally bit the dust! I tried the flimsy nylon ones that pack down to almost nothing. Hated them. All were mostly one big compartment. Like carrying your stuff in one of those disposable plastic grocery bags. All of those allowed my water bottle to routinely drag the pack down or fall out. This is nearly the perfect pack, and still a nice lighter weight. For travel, it will probably just lay flat in my suitcase and take up less space that way. This is strictly a day pack for light use so don't expect tough hiking features.PROS: The pack has some structure, with an inner lining and an outer water repellent fabric. It won't save the contents from a downpour (the zippers don't completely close, for one thing). It does pack down into a slightly larger self-pocket with a loop for clipping onto a belt. It is a nice size - not huge, not small. Fits me (5'6").I love the outer lacing for tucking in a jacket or sweater so it won't drag. The water bottle pockets are ok. They hold my Healthy Human 24 oz bottle with room to spare, though I am using a short elastic mitten clip to provide more secure storage. As with most of these packs, the elastic bottle pockets are not great because the top edge is too loose. They fit my 16 oz bottle well as that bottle has a neck right at the elastic top.Excellent organization: There is a big main compartment, with a deep zippered inner pocket on the back side. Outside, there's a large and deep zippered pocket, and a second zippered pocket outside of that one - it's also the self-storage pocket. You can use the fabric loop inside that pocket as a key ring. The shoulder straps are surprising comfortable for a pack like this. Solid, not webbed, not padded. But they are soft enough not to rub bare skin.CONS: The outside zippers unzip way too easily all by themselves. I solved that by using some small anti-theft zipper clips. The exterior zipper tabs (and maybe the zipper closure) appear to be plastic. So those might not be too durable with heavy use. The toggle to adjust the elastic lacing doesn't lock down tightly; it slides open under pressure. I fixed that by knotting the excess cord below it. It is certainly possible to get a better quality toggle but is it worth it? Probably not.OVERALL: Highly recommended for function, style, and price. I accidentally ordered it in the tan color (true to the web page), so I worry about it showing all the scuffs. It's an attractive neutral color and I'm keeping the pack.

Well made, perfect for travel!
Such a well-made product, the material is sturdy. It folds up perfectly and quickly to put in a bigger bag when traveling, and is big enough to hold anything you would need on a daytime adventure.

Perfect Day Trip Bag
I bought this backpack for our trip to Europe. It was perfect for a day bag. It fit our snacks and our rolled up rain jackets. It also folds back into its bag pretty easily for compact storage.

Not ideal compact foldable backpack for travel
If you're looking for a durable everyday backpack for your kids, this one does the job well. The material feels sturdy, and the overall build quality is solid. However, if you're specifically looking for a compact, foldable backpack for travel, this might not be the best option. While it is technically foldable, the thick fabric and multiple compartments make it quite bulky when packed down. It doesn’t fold into a small, easily portable size like other lightweight travel backpacks. In terms of size, it's on the smaller side—probably best suited for kids or petite adults. As a functional foldable backpack, I’d give it 1 star. For durability and quality, it deserves a higher rating.Just keep in mind what you’re buying it for—great for light use, but not ideal as a space-saving travel companion.

Better than I expected
It folds up to be packed nicely. It is way larger than I expected which is good. Many reviews said it hurt their shoulders because there is no padding. The first day I used it, I thought the same however when I used it the second day, I tightened up the straps and there was no strain on my shoulders. It's made of lightweight material and seems pretty sturdy. I was very pleased with this purchase.

Great travel bag for day trips
Perfect little backpack. I bought this to use on my Alaska cruise as my purse and it was pretty perfect. It's not big - I wouldn't suggest using this as a kid's school backpack. But there are lots of pockets - a small one on the inside of the large compartment, a large compartment, a smaller more slender pocket, and the mini pocket on the outside (where you could fold the bag into a small compact travel size). I also liked that it has two side mesh pockets for water bottles or other things, as well a bungee cord to stuff your wet jacket into if you didn't want to stuff it into your large compartment and get things wet. I liked that the zippers had easy pull tabs, with double zippers on the 2 largest compartments. I also liked the pastel pink color - it was easy to spot. And despite leaving it in floors, carrying it through rain, multiple airports, it has remained relatively clean and stain free. Some negative parts, it's not super waterproof. I got caught in a rain storm and the bag got pretty wet. But it did dry very quickly once I emptied it out and let it dry. The straps have absolutely no support or cushion. This isn't the ideal bag to stuff 25lbs worth of supplies and go hiking in. The rest of the bag didn't have any cushion either, so if you want to put your electronics in (like you laptop or tablet), make sure it's very cushioned.I think this is a great, affordable travel bag to have as an option when you need a day bag.
