Envirocare Replacement Allergen Filtration Vacuum Cleaner Dust Bags made to fit Kenmore Canister Type C or Q 50555, 50558, 50557 and Panasonic Type C-5 18 pack

I bought these bags for my Kenmore Canister vac to see if we could get a good value over the branded bags. We have a household full of highly allergic peoples, so a thick/quality bag is incredibly important to us. I was concerned that because of the price they wouldn't be a good fit for our vacuum or would be poor quality. I definitely didn't need to be concerned. These bags feel *better* quality than the branded bags. They're very thick and seem to trap plenty of allergens. We've had no problems with fit at all. I was a little concerned about where the paper bag holder attaches to the bag (thinking it might tear easily as you slide the bag in) but after a few months of use and a few replacing of bags in the vac, I've had no issues.I would give these a 5 star review except that the bags lose airflow before they're full from time to time. I know this is because they're trapping such fine particles that they're getting plugged quicker...which is a good thing. But it does mean you have to keep an eye on the bags to make sure you're still getting plenty of suction. That said, at the price of these bags vs. the branded bags, it hasn't stopped my from buying these!

I am adding this note because I recently had to open a bag to find out if an object I picked up was a piece of jewelry. I was impressed with the structure. I has two layers - apparently one for strength and the other to provide HEPA performance. I feel very confident that it is a truly great product.Of course there is no way to confirm it is truly a HEPA bag, but it appears very well made - using a material that seems more industrial in quality than the Sears it replaced. It is strong enough that I can pull the bag to free it of glue overflow near the intake hole. Sears always ripped if you tried that. These bags are somewhat larger than the Sears - causing initial concern. However, they work well, so that is not really a problem. Compared to Sears, it is a tremendous bargain.

We have several pets and the hair and regular paper bags don’t filter fine enough. These fabric bags work great and are a lot less expensive than the Sears bags. At first sight these bags seem too large to fit, but after you tuck the corners in they fit just fine and once you turn on the vacuum they expand to the proper fit inside. Highly recommended for people with pets and fine dust.

I have used Kenmore and DVC allergy bags before and these seem better. I recently changed my first very full Envirocare bag and for the first time did not have to clean the foam filter on the exhaust - it was clean! Had to cut apart the bag to retrieve a sucked in valueable and found that these bags don't tear - another good point about them. They are oversize for my Kenmore Progressive as some people commented, but that's a good thing - more surface area gives better air flow. Just tuck in the sides and end and close the lid, ensuring that bag isn't being pinched.

These vacuum bags are thicker and less likely to tear than similar ones purchased in local stores. The only difficulty is occasionally they slip off the opening of the vacuum and clog up in the inside of the vacuum cavity. You have to check often that it is still in place.

These are great vacuum bags at an excellent price. Vacuum bags are not really an exciting purchase but it's really nice to get something like this that works so well. Been using them for years and will continue to do so.

I always have to have good quality vacuum bags on hand - lots of dog hair!

These are a great bargain, but as others have said, with a slightly wonky sizing. I use them for a time or two, then I open the vacuum and redistribute the dirt and fold the bag into a normal shape. I am happy doing so, given how much money I saved.
