Pet Safe 729849142442 Bolt Automatic Laser Light

I bought this to replace the model that goes in a full circle. The laser pattern is a bit more random than the circular one and it's a bit slower. The cats seem to enjoy this one more. It can be a bit tedious to adjust the laser height. You have to wait for it to go all the way around to see how it lines up. If you point it all the way down it can block the laser when it comes close to the toy, you have to go just slightly higher than the lowest setting. I do appreciate how much you can adjust it though, you can make it hit one small area on the floor or make it go halfway up the wall all over the room. It seems pretty well built, there isn't much to go wrong in it mechanically. Our cats are definitely having $20 with of fun with it.

This thing is flat out fantastic. I've had no problems with it. While it doesn't seem like its most well built items, but come on its $20, its been an great little toy. Not for a cat but a 115lb Rottie and its the best to watch such a large beast chase a little red dot all over the floor. The built in 15 minute timer is great!

Poorly constructed. The gears locked up or were striped so that the mechanism on which the laser was mounted so that it rotates to move the laser dot stopped functioning. That process took less than 45 minutes of use. In retrospect, it should have been obvious that something was not functioning correctly because over the 45 minutes, the sound volume associated with the gears moving increased over the short life of the unit. Now, the laser functions but the beam is in one place. This pet toy is not recommended because it quickly becomes non-functional unless you want to use the entire unit as you would use a laser pointer (which is much smaller and less expensive)

The light flickers a little in addition to moving, but the cat (being a cat) doesn't really mind.

My cat loves this laser light. She loves stalking the laser and she plays with it daily, often several times per day. Great value as well.Suggestions for improvements:- Allow adjusting the speed. I'd like to see if she'd like it more at different speeds.- Have it work with a timer so it turns on every 2-3 hours to provide exercise even when we are out of the house.
