Boy Scouts of America: The Official Handbook for Boys, Seventeenth Edition

Than again, I guess it's my fault, I should of noticed the barely visible [HISTORY] on the top right corner. This is nothing but a reprint of very old versions of the BSA handbook, I was looking for the newer version.However, with that said, this still has very valuable information, with first aid(review newer first aid techniques and note where applicable, relevant and important changes), knot craft, how to identify various wild-life, including plants and animals. Etc..etc.The downside is, usually the pictures are merely drawings in black and white and maybe hard to decipher in some instances, or lacks details to be totally usable. If you can, I suggest actually locating the official, newer versions, of the BSA handbook :).

I have always had one close for all kinds of outdoor use. This book is a standard for activities, even if your not a boy scout. One of these is like a bible, every house should have one

This is a must have for all maturing males, and which of us isn't? A maturing male is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent. When I have recited those features in the recent past, I've gotten mostly sneers...a sign of our times since the late nineteen fifties when I learned them.
