The design of this seat provides great support with minimal seat contact. The open center of the seat allows good air flow for cooling and less contact where contact is not needed. The seat is lightweight. However, the seat cover material is very durable. It is more on the expensive side - but the pleasure you get from it is worth the expense.

I already owned a Sella Italia SLR Superflow, and it's always been a favorite saddle. I'm typically not a big fan of gel saddles for longer rides, because added cushion tends to eventually lead to rubbing after a few hours. I've always gone with the lean and minimal padding that allows little more than the butt bones to contact the saddle, resulting in the least amount of rubbing elsewhere, which is why the SLR Superflow is such a great saddle. So I have to admit I was a bit hesitant to see gel added to an already excellent design. However, my worries were unfounded, and I was very pleasantly surprised to break this saddle in with a long 60 mile ride. First impression was that the saddle was even more comfortable than my regular SLR Superflow without gel. Second, I found that even after three hours, I didn't get the usual hotspots on my contact points with the saddle. Very impressive. Overall, if you own a 145mm SLR Superflow and you know it's a good fit, you're going to absolutely love the ride and comfort of this gel version of it. Sella Italia has taken an already excellent saddle, and added another layer of comfort for sport riders who do spend long hours in the saddle. Photo shows my Litespeed Tuscany with the Max SLR Gel Superflow saddle with titanium rails. Very, very pleased with this saddle. Worth every penny I spent on it.

I found it! I FOUND IT!!! I don’t even know how many saddles I’ve been through at this point but, NO MORE! This saddle fits me so perfectly, it clicked right on the first ride - I found “The Slot.” Once my sit bones found their spot to perch upon the contour of the saddle, set at the perfect width - 145mm - the saddle all but disappeared. No coccyx pain. No perineum discomfort. Just a nice breeze down below provided by the cutout and an enjoyable ride. The gel layer is quite thin, and yet provides just enough padding. The microfiber cover of the saddle is tactile and pleasing and doesn’t slip. My frame and reach had me pair this with a Thomson setback post and it is just perfect now. I went out and put down over 20 miles today on a “Break In” ride and honestly could have went 20 more. This saddle has made riding the bike a joy again!

I ride an aluminum frame bike with a carbon fork for gravel riding. I have been using Selle Italia saddles for several decades, and have always found them to be comfortable and of the highest quality. I swapped out the saddle that came with the bike for one Selle Italia saddle, and was not satisfied that it provided the amount of gel cushioning that I wanted for gravel riding. I found this saddle and ordered it, and installed it. It is by far more comfortable for gravel riding. I have moved the other Selle Italia saddle to my road bike. I would definitely buy this saddle again for gravel riding.

Swapped out a Fizik Argo saddle with this, and think I prefer this. Really soaks up bumps. Lightweight. The white looking text is actually more of a silver. It matches my raw titanium bike well. Give it a try.

Bought this as a replacement saddle for a carbon road bike. Well designed and very good craftsmanship and really light weight for the price. Pretty minimal padding and just not comfortable for me.

I changed back after 4 small rides. It was not comfortable for me and gave saddle sores very quickly. Great looking but just couldn’t do it.
