DO NOT buy from these people. I had an utterly embarrassing experience. I attended a small baby shower for my boss who is on top of his health and as well as his baby. I decided to buy him a water distiller. As a matter of fact, one as well for myself. Ordering two items and spending well over $1,000, one would expect for nothing to go wrong. When I arrived to the baby shower with my gift, I opened it up for him and wanted to set it up as I saw online earlier. What I found out was COMPLETELY disgusting. I open up this "package" which already looked cheap and refurbished. What I mean is, the packaging, i.e. the plastic bag around the machine was already opened and the machine had fingerprints all over it. Not only did this look cheap, used, and in the second market, this was missing the most important piece, the connecting cord to the outlet. To make matters worse, I volunteered to give him mine which I thought was new. Turns out BOTH packages looked pre-opened, poorly packaged, AND with fingerprints all over them. Not only did I apologize profusely for gifting something that looked used, but I had to take it back and promise to bring him another one. So I'm stuck here without a gift, and having to wait a couple of days for a refund in order to get him another one, which will probably take me another week. Order directly from their website. One star does not do my experience justice. Absolutely ridiculous.

I got my first one in 2002, this one has a new improved computer cooling style fan that is quiet and should last a lot longer than the old style. It works very well, change the receptacle when you change the heating element, they should be changed in pairs. I had my first one 15 years, if not for the fan I would have kept it but the old style fan cost $170 and was not well made. The new style timer is not reliable.We distill water 2 to 4 times a day and it works extremely well. Just add a quarter teaspoon of baking soda to make the water base as it will be acidic after distillation.The new one I purchased so far the timer has failed twice and the tank does not like up with the distiller coil tube, it is off one quarter of an inch. The new ones are not reliable like the old ones so I could not recommend.

I have given this five stars, but I want to be clear about the few drawbacks. First, this is obviously more expensive than other distillers. You have to pay for a US-made item. Second, for the large size that takes up a lot of space in your kitchen, it doesn't produce that much—about two thirds of a gallon each time. That means most households will have to run it at least once per day. Finally, it is not so easy to clean since the design is less open than others.The bottom line, though, is that the water is absolutely pristine. I have tested it at 1 part per million total dissolved solids, down from about 200 ppm from the tap. Further, the construction is sturdy and built to last. I love the water from this one and look forward to having it for many more years to come.

I bought this distiller 4 years ago and it works like a champ! In our large household of 6, we distill 2-3 times a day. It works every time. I can't remember what the issue was when first purchased, but I called the company, they were extremely helpful and the problem was resolved. This company deserves 5 stars!
