stunning conclusion
An epic way to conclude the trilogy. Superb writing as ever from Hobb. The incredible characters stories masterfully told so that the reader experiences the trials and triumphs along with them. I will miss them all.

Great Books
So, this trilogy is my least favorite of the series, BUT still amazing. Hard for pirate tales to not be amazing. Characters are unique and interesting. With a good compelling story.

Robin Hobb's trilogy about the Live ships is amazing. The concept of the liveships and the world that Hobb has created is brilliant. I have enjoyed them so much that in my spare time there is little else that I do apart from read; I need to know what happens. There are several story lines occurring in this trilogy and I was engaged by all of them; I needed to know what happens to ALL the characters. Hobb writing makes you believe in the characters; their lives, loves and trials. What I enjoyed most was the twists and turns; sometimes you read books and you know where the author is taking you; Hobb changes things up so that you may be on the general path, but the path looks and feels nothing like you though it would..Great read, I couldn't wait to start "The Rain Wild Chronicles" which flows on from the last book "Ship of Destiny"A big fat five stars!!!!

Gripping Fantasy Saga
I first read these books when I lived in England back in the late 80s or early 90s. Recently I felt the desire to read them again, and have not been at all disappointed! Robin Hobb is an extraordinary storyteller, allowing you to immerse yourself into each character in the books. I used to read in bed about 10 minutes before turning out the light; I’m sure I’m reading now for at least 40 minutes! Beautifully told and expertly spun.

Complex, fulfilling plots and characters rich in detail
I've never read a Robin Hobb book that I didn't like. The Liveship traders fit right into the two trilogies about Fitz and the Golden Fool - but you don't have to read the whole series in order. The magical world Hobb has created is as rich an full of detail and characters that anyone could desire. I would add - if you're a reader that plows through a book and forgets it, you won't enjoy these as much as you will if you savor each page. The characters speak truly - read a bit of it out loud and you'll feel it. There are no all-evil villains nor all-good heros in these pages, but you will find people (and a few ships) that you'd like to get to know and keep as friends (or in some cases - avoid at all cost!)
