I really like this knife. Not sure why I waited so long to get one. With a block full of knives I typically go to my 9" chef knife or a 3.5" paring knife. This is nice for the in between type of work that is too small for a chef knife and too uncomfortable for long stretches with a paring knife. I can see I'll be using this a lot for canning peppers and peaches. Sharp out of the package, nice to look at, comfortable and well balanced.

I bought this as a gift for a friend. It is a beautiful knife and seems to be very high quality at a reasonable price. The wood handle is beautiful as well. Obviously, I did not use it myself so I cannot comment on how durable or easy to clean it is but I was quite impressed when I opened it and my friend really liked it as well.

I have one gripe with this product. The hilt isn't as good as the blade in quality. The hilt seems a little light and just not right. I really like the blade. My mom uses it as her everyday blade. Good product for the price you pay.

This was exactly what I was looking for (or so I thought). A "Chinese-style" cleaver that was full tine with not as broad a blade as most are in this style. It arrived in a nice gift box, and the knife itself is really nicely made for its price, well-polished, super sharp, reasonably balanced.But the rivets on the handle extend beyond the handle for a noticeable uncomfortable grip. The top of the tine does the same and that also adds to the uncomfortable grip. All my knives' handles are smooth, rivets or not.This may not be the case with every Sedge product, even with another of the exact cleaver, but I returned the item rather than exchanging. Looking for another one...

firstly this knife is absolutely beautiful. It handles very well and feels like you have something in your hand when you use this knife. it glides through items with ease. The only reason I gave it a 4 on durability is the lack of time owned.
