I have a TON of embroidery books and this one is my favorite. I couldn't stitch a French knot (despite hundreds of tries) until following Renee's instructions. Same goes for a stem stitch. My lettering finally looks good. This book is approachable with simple instructions. Great for beginners and seasoned stitchers.

I've been following Renee and Moonrisewhims for a long time. She's so talented and her patterns are unique and fun. Edgy Embroidery combines her knowledge of the craft and her amazing patterns, making it easy to create your own little works of art. She breaks down a bunch of different stitches into step by step instructions and even has pictures to help! Each pattern she provides in the book comes with some helpful guidance, as well as specifics on floss count and color and hopefully size.The book is full of beautiful artwork and loads of inspirational help. I'm so excited to complete more projects from the book and to utilize the knowledge I gain to enhance every other project I get my hands on.(I've attached a finished ribcage I completed using the provided pattern and guidance. It was super easy to follow and Renee's tips really helped make it unique and fun.)

I had never done embroidery before so I thought this looked like a good book to start with. Wow it was worth every penny!! I completed most of the projects in order and now have a great base to move on to more complex projects! The instructions and photos are fantastic and fun!

I thought the book would be only designs but it’s way more than that.There’s a whole guide about needles, stitches, etc. If I could be in love with a book, this one would be it. The designs are exquisite. They’re very different and what I was looking for.

This book has everything! The first part is embroidery 101, it had information that I was looking for, as well as information I didnt know I needed (how to properly hoop, how to wash your work, how to finalize a project.)The best part is that it explains how to transfer patterns, how to make your own patterns, and explains which cloths you can use and what the differences are.The patterns in the back are also very cute.*this does not come with actual materials, but it is a book with detailed instructions and patterns that you can transfer yourself and it explains how to do so.

I love this book, have already used three of the designs and plan to do many more. I keep pulling it out for reference. Every once in a while you just need to see a video of a stitch, but this works great too. Lots of great gift worthy ideas.

I wanted to learn to embroider but didn't know where to start. I came across this book let it sit in my Amazon cart undecided for a while. Well, I received it as a birthday gift last week! I love it! It's easy for me to understand and I am excited about starting each project. I love that it,focuses on gaining confidence and skill in one technique at a time, shows picture examples, written example, and her finished product.

I just restarted embroidery today (after 20 years) and read the whole thing this afternoon. It uses a few basic concepts to get you started and tells you all you need to get working well. I bought this in conjunction with a stitch gallery book. This book encourages me to get started and I use the stitch gallery for reference. I think this book explains some of the stitches a little clearer than others, but I think you will still need to watch a video of the knots. The simplicity of the projects really makes it clear that theRe is room for you in embroidery.

Nice book and good range of designs

Exceptional book for dipping your toe into embroidery, the instructions are extremely clear and the patterns absolutely great. I've looked all of the patterns this book contains and I want to do them all. I also love that there's a good learning curve to it, the first couple of patterns use only one stitch, then another is added, and so on and so forth. Before you know it you have learned to do crazy things. Well at least I hope it will be the case for me, I've already started hoarding different types of fabric to practice all of the stitches and patterns. It is definitely a challenge, but a fun one because these patterns are so great and the explanation so clear. I highly recommend it to beginners like me and seasonned stitchers who want a fun twist on the traditionnal patterns.

Highly recommend this book for anyone just starting out (or anyone who doesn't want their embroidery to come out looking like great-grandma Betty-Sue's). Clear instructions, even if you have never picked up a needle and thread before, this book is for you. Original, unique designs that range from very simple to much more complex as you learn more stitches. Very happy with this purchase.

Para quem gosta de bordados com um estilo mais moderno e sem grandes firulas esse livro é uma ótima opção. Instruções bem explicadas, belas fotos ilustrativas e o que mais gostei - o livro abre completamente e os riscos podem ser destacados do livro facilmente.
