Fun game with friends and family
This game is absolutely fun to play with my family and friends! Although some have a hard time with english, this game helps them practice with fun. Loads of fun and laughter. You can even use the words for charades when you have children wanting to play!TIP:One thing I do is not use the pencils and pads the game provides you with. Instead, I have a whiteboard, markers, and a sheet of paper towel. Its less mess and faster progress as you play.

Who doesn't love pictionary?
This game is amazing and it is best to buy some whiteboards and dry erase markers to draw the different words. I highly recommend this for families because it is very entertaining and helps people show their artistic sides.

Lazy reprint
Hasbro has proven again that they're just trying to cash in on old classics by putting as little effort as possible into a reprint. They've done away with the category aspect of classic pictionary. On top of that, the word/phrase difficulty is laughably all over the place with no rhyme or reason. One card might have 'ear' on it, while another might have 'democracy'.Actually, 80% of the words leaned towards "too easy," and our group actually ended up not using the board and just playing the cards Taboo style...seeing how many words you could get before the sand timer ran out (which also runs too long). It's clear that this game underwent little effort and zero play testing. For a game that can easily be duplicated at home by putting together a word list or using a web site, Hasbro needs to really offer some value in purchasing the actual game. I find they've actually offered un-value...I'd rather just make my own rather than use their horrible deck.

Disappointing update - Fun game (concept) poor execution (cards/words)
I played an older version of this game some 15 years ago and remember it being a blast. I bought this version hoping for more of the same. Sadly, they seem to have run out of good ideas for the cards/words - but that didn't stop them from putting it out anyhow. We flipped through a half dozen cards and were all just baffled as to how one would draw some of them - or how it'd be fun. I don't doubt that the "older" version are still fun. Stick with the classics and avoid topical/current event topics and the game is ageless. As it is, we'll probably never try to play it again.

We enjoyed cranium better
Rating is for the game (not the store). We enjoyed cranium better. Surprisingly the colors of the squares, while matching to that color on the cards - means nothing. The colors don't really hold a purpose. We thought the colors would have a purpose like in Trivial Pursuit (Orange = Sports/Liesure; Purple= Science & Nature....etc.) In This, color is 100% irrelevant, the items associated to colors are just random. Meh.

Big hit!
worried it would differ substantially from the original version (bought it for Christmas at our son's home as it is a family favorite game) It has different things to draw but similar in nature and was every bit as fun.

... sister for her birthday because she and her husband love this game but couldn't find it in stores anymore
I got this game for my sister for her birthday because she and her husband love this game but couldn't find it in stores anymore. This specific game of dictionary is great and closer to the classic. There are so many different kinds of Pictionary games out there so pay attention to the one you buy.
