Seems Good To Me
I connected this to the optical output of my TV using 1 of the supplied cables. Then I used another cable to link it to one of the 2 optical inputs of my hifi unit so that the TV sound goes to my Bose speakers.I also used the Toslink Optical Splitter to connect the TV output to my Phonak Bluetooth hearing aid sender unit. That way I can get sound to my hearing aid and also TV sound can be heard by other people in the room at a normal volume. All seems to work well. Easy to set up. I used a spare mobile phone recharger plugged into the multiple mains extension lead as the power source for the Toslink Optical Splitter (but I could have used a USB socket on the back of the TV but it's handy to have one vacant for a USB memory stick).I can't think of any reason to mark this item down so I give it 5 stars.

Little box of joy
For years I have had my sound going through a TEAC amp to floor standing speakers. The TEAC amp doesn’t have an optical input to a few years ago I bought a phono to optical converter which works great. I have recently purchased a BOSE SOLO 5 sound bar, which also sounds great but when using I missed to whack of the floor standing speakers. Is there a way to a both together I thought? Well it turns out there is and the answer of this unit. This unit splits the signal to both my TEAC amp and the BOSE SOLO 5 simultaneously.I did wonder if it would actually work, but it did! Very easy to set up, I used a USB port on my LG TV to power it, and I have Velcroed it to the back of the TV unit so it’s out of the way.Now I can have either the BOSE or the TEAC individually or both together. Amazing!

Works fine for me. 4 Optical cables with a splitter thrown in
That is how I justified buying it.Initially I thought it was mulfunctioning, but I plugged a cable into the output not input of the bluetooth transceiver - when corrected it worked fine.BECAUSE it is powered, it DOES split a single input into at least 2 outputs without loss or requiring only one device at a time.I am only using 2 outputs - mini soundbar & BT TRX used as a transmitter, so cannot comment on whether or not: 3 or 4 outputs at once works.I got the 1-4 & 4x cables as it was only a pound more than the 1-3.Without the cables it is £11.99 I believe. You won't get basic Toslink cables that cheaply and I am starting to regret paying more for fancier Toslinks as these do plug in and stay plugged in perfectly well. The plugs are the deal maker/breaker with most cables. The splitter itself is tiny but works well.Frankly you could spend more on just a 1-3 device and still have to buy cables. Why bother - this does the job for 4 devices.

Does exactly what it says on the tin!
I needed to split my PC sound onto my soundstage, surround system and turtle beach headphones. It allows the signal to passthrough exactly as it is outputted in either stereo, 5.1 or 5.1 DTS with no problems whatsoever.A very nice splitter which allows no signal degradation whatsoever allowing for the signal to remain strong over 4 3m cables to all my equipment simultaneously. Excellent value for money.

It works perfectly - great value
Surprisingly smaller than i thought it would - which is good (just slightly bigger than the size of a matchbox).Plugged if Optical input from TV, and connected 2 of the 3 optical outputs to the sound bar and wireless headphones. Connected the supplied micro USB cable in to a spare USB port on the TV (to provide power ... although could have also use a normal USB power supply) - and hey bingo - it fired in to life. All cables supplied - 3 optical + 1 micro USB.My only very minor feedback would be that the optical ends of the cables are not capped - so very easy for them to be touched... but for my setup, a spec of dust isn't going to make any difference and not going to knock anything off the rating for that.

Works How A Splitter Box Should
Needed a splitter box has my tv has only "one optical out".I needed a splitter box for 3 other outputs. Thus anything from the tv now i can send to my Denon Amp this produces 600w listening power with my set up normally used for vinyl on my Technics turntable,so now any from the tv,eg: streaming,YouTube etc goes through my amp and no loss of sound quality, the other 2 outputs are a soundbar, and 5.1 home theatre system, first turn the tv on then the amp and sound goes straight to it,and like wise with the other 2 outputs,no more fiddling about at the back of the tv and swopping optical cables.

Brilliant piece of kit.
Recently bought a new TV which does not have a headphone jack, nor does it support audio output to two devices at once (eg. soundbar and bluetooth headphones). Having a hard-of-hearing household member, this meant that either they could only have subtitles, or I couldn't hear the TV.However, problem solved thanks to this wonderful device and another piece of kit that converts Toslink into alternative audio outputs including headphones. Now, the optical port on the TV is outputting to both the soundbar and the wireless headphone base station with no discernible loss in quality on either device.
