Didn’t need to install a driver
Bought this because laptop wireless adapter keeps dropping out and I would have to restart from one to many many times before I would get a viable wifi connection . My laptop has windows 10 and the included driver was not needed. I wasn’t sure what to expect after insertion into the usb 3.0 port. I did notice windows adding the “safely remove” icon , but didn’t notice anything else new right away. There was no pop up window which threw me off. The device was actually recognized because I right clicked the safely remove and saw the new device. So, I could remove it but how do I access it. I opened the windows network window and next the change adapter window. The new USB adapter had a button right after the existing wifi button ( for the malfunctioning built in adapter). The new adapter was labeled WIFI 2. So I performed a connect to the home wireless, entered the necessary credentials and voila. I had stable reliable wifi. When finished I disconnected and did the safely remove. I might try using my usb (3.0) hub next time since my mouse and kbd the 2 other usb (2.0) ports. Got a printer I hope can plug into the hub along with the new usb wireless adapter. My laptop unfortunately can not be upgraded to windows 11, so it was either get a new laptop and thereby hopefully have reliable wifi, or try this usb wireless adapter to buy me some time. So, far so good.

Powerful Little USB Wu-Fi Adapter
Plug'n'Play worked on both Windows 10 machines that I tested, the USB was detected almost immediately and showed up as an option in both my laptop (with an existing internal wireless card, so was named Wi-Fi 2) and my desktop (without an existing Wi-Fi connection). On both these devices, I found that doesn't default to the best connection speed and radio band, but I also found the same behavior on my laptop with it's integrated Wi-Fi chipset, so It seems to be an issue with Windows' networking choices. The issue that I found was that on a dual-band 802.11ac router, my computers were choosing to connect via 2.4GHz 802.11n with a speed of <20Mbps instead of the 5GHz 802.11ac with a download speed of 120Mbps. In order to prevent this poor performing speed, I changed the the following to force it to have better performance:Device Manager > Network Adapters > Realtek 8812BU Wireless LAN 802.11ac USB NIC (Right Click) > Properties > Advanced > Wireless Mode: IEEE 802.11acEven when on the suboptimal network, I found that the USB antenna was able to transmit/recieve better, at least when being on the other side of the house from the router and separated by several walls/doors. The download speed gain was roughly 25-50% in these casesI have not gotten a chance to test it on a MacOS/OSX, Linux, or other operating systems.I have personally found it very useful to add pretty good wireless capabilities to my desktop. While the 802.11ac is above my internet speed, there are enough times when I need to transfer multi-gigabyte files for work between computers that it's nice to have a higher transfer rate. This device seems to be a good balance between price, range, and performance. Depending on your use case, internet speeds, and home networking equipment, a cheaper model may suffice, but the performance of this device seems worth it in most cases (since it is USB, it is easy to switch it around to other devices)

Works, but may have a few connection problems
The product is great, works well, and overall can get you the wifi connection you need for whatever system demands it.The wifi adapter comes with instructions on getting the proper application for it to work and comes with a USB stick with the application pre-installed to make it easier as well. It's only drawback would be it's connection, while it works well and does the job properly, there are times when the product will begin to slow down even down to 0mb/s, which can be back, however this only lasts about a second or two, afterwords it goes back to working normally for a while before repeating this same drop time and time again.

Works with Raspbian if you don't mind doing some digging. Compatible with RTL8812 drivers.
I purchased this by accident for a Raspberry Pi 4. I have an old TP-Link external WiFi adapter but it was only 2.4 GHz. I wanted to make a game/media streaming box for Steam Link and Kodi on the Pi 4, and the old adapter wasn't cutting it. The built-in WiFi on the boards don't handle game streaming well and cause periodic stuttering.I purchased this thinking it was the new version of that old dongle because apparently I can't read. It wasn't, and the drivers for it are not included in the current Raspbian Buster image available for download on the Raspberry Pi website. The included drivers on the disk that came with it are also not designed for ARM based Linux and there are no drivers available to download for Linux or the Raspberry Pi on the developer's website. However, looking through the disk revealed that it utilizes a version of Realtek drivers, RTL8812AU. Armed with that knowledge it's possible to find the drivers elsewhere and install them.Once installed and rebooted, this WiFi adapter is day and night compared to the on-board card. The range is noticeably longer and transfer speeds are much faster. Most of this is likely due to the antenna, but it doesn't matter. Steam Link network tests up to 100 mbps pass with flying colors despite being on the other side of the house from the router.I'm not going to rate this based on ease of install, because it wasn't easy to install but I'm also not using it as intended. If this were a Windows or Mac based machine I'm sure the experience would have been much simpler, although that does depend on the prevalence of optical drives in the wild these days. I still have them, but I know many people that don't and they would have been out of luck with this product. That being said, I'm extremely pleased with the performance and for the price I haven't found anything even remotely comparable.
