Sturdy reliable supplement to a food processor
I bought this for temporary use being away from home and my food processor. I love this product! I like having the case to corral all the pieces. It took me a while to figure out what the different blades were best for and how best to manipulate the wand to mix stuff. It's not good for thick spreads like hummus--the motor has to work too hard and it doesn't mix really thick pastes like a food processor can. I like the variable speeds you can set on the top ring (but the numbers are hard to see). It took me a couple of times to get the feel for how to "lock" the blade onto the shaft and the shaft into the motor for using the wand. It surprised me that there isn't a "lock" for using the cup/chopper--the motor just sits on the top to the chopper. I love the way it blends soups (creamy cauliflower soup with no fat! YUM!), makes mayonnaise type spreads, chops, and whips. The only attachment I haven't used yet is the frother. The only down is my fingers get tired holding the button in, and I have to switch hands a lot, but that's because I'm using it for what should be done in a food processor. The cord is sufficiently long altho it does get in the way sometimes--but that would be a problem with any wand mixer. I"m very pleased with this product and it will get used for quick jobs, when I get back home, even with my food processor.

75w vs 300w - there is no lack of power here
Was concerned at first because of the reviews not being higher and the wattage only being 75W compared to the 300W claimed by another with a higher rating but unfamiliar brand. Package came quickly, chose this one because of being sold by Amazon which stands behind whatever they sell and because the product was a name brand everyone knows. I also prefer the twist vs the push button to release the blades. Loved the idea of having 3 blades to choose from if desired. Comes with a case for the attachments which is a bonus. But as for the function - there is no lack of power - I liked the idea of pushing one button to operate it and release it to stop instead of the two buttons on others. I put a banana in water with powder mix and never noticed a hesitation in the motor and all was blended in just a few seconds to liquid smooth with no clumps at all. When turning it on in the drink it feels like a magnet pulling it down due to the strength of the turning blade. Used the S blade for my purpose. Wife was initially dissapointed using it but found she forgot to pull off the blade guard all of the blades come with - after removing it she was impressed with the power. Both of us are very satisfied with the purchase. If problems arise I will post them as well as we are new owners.

The best brand to buy
I have had a Kitchenaid immersion blender for nearly ten years, and it is a workhorse -- reliable, and a handy complement for the happy home cook. Blending by hand like this takes a little more time than using a stand blender, but the convenience can't be beat -- it's small and the blade part of this utensil is dishwasher-safe. In addition, the hand blender offers more control, in general and thanks to the speed adjustments, and I have been able to produce beautifully velvety soups and other purees with it. I did not get any attachments with mine -- they weren't available at the time -- and have particularly regretted not having a whisk attachment. When my son saw my Kitchenaid hand blender, he wanted one, too. So I decided to give him the complete set (and hope I get one someday in return!). He's very satisfied. Before making this purchase, I updated my knowledge with quite a bit of research, and Kitchenaid consistently came out ahead of the other major brand(s). It's worth the price.

WOW almost a commercial grade hand blender
This is really a bargain for a Hand Blender. I have used the big Waring Hand "Motor boat blenders" and frankly that are just too big for home use. Great in a commercial kitchen. So went looking for a good hand blender - the reviews of this hand blender were overall good - so took a chance. WOW this tool came with all of the needed accessories and a few that might come in handy later. But in the basic mode it works great. Created great soups and gravy's, and with a quick blend great beans just right with plenty of control to not over blend. The whip really makes a great whipping cream and whipped egg whites. And made several different salad dressings and flavored mayonnaise.Overall a great kitchen tool. Now the question is will it last as long as the last hand blender - almost 10 years of heavy use. Will provide an update on that later.

Love it
So, I really hate cooking but, I have every kitchen gadget know to man to make life easy for me when I must to go in the kitchen. This blender and its fabulous little case checks out perfectly. In fact, I have used it several times already and it's so easy, even I can use it. Easy to assemble, very easy to clean and even easier to put to bed in it's way cute storage case. I have even used the whisk to whisk up muffin batter to very good effect, the very piece I thought I would never use. I have used the blender for two soups so far. One was a lentil soup that I wanted smooth, so I turned up the volume and she did the job well. Another was a bean soup that I wanted to thicken but wanted to retain some beans whole. She came up trumps again. THe chopper I have used in both soup preps for onions and to prepare garlic and ginger. The onions were rater pulverized, I maybe had it up too high but for the garlic and ginger it was perfect. It chops up 3 cloves of garlic and a couple of slices of ginger to a very fine mix with nothing else in there. Very happy with that, I hate chopping garlic and ginger, well I hate chopping anything really, I just particularly hate chopping up garlic. Two thumbs up for me. I think we are set to have a very happy relationship together because she is easy to use and I'm simple minded.
