There doesn't seem to be any standardized definition of what a product will be like if it is sold as a "gel cream". I ordered three different gel cream products at the same time to try, including this one, and all three were vastly different from one another.This Elf product ended up of the three to being the most like I had imagined a gel cream to be. It is sort of like jelly in the jar. It liquifies in the fingers almost instantly, though, so it's easy to apply. It also absorbs easily and doesn't stay sticky at all.It does well with my eczema-prone skin, which is tricky when it comes to ingredients like niacinamide and squalene. It's the centella asiatica that made me even consider this, which is like a dream for my skin, along with the fact that there is no fragrance whatsoever.Overall, this makes a really nice light nighttime moisturizer for me for the summer!

I have tried countless moisturizers over the years and this one has been my holy grail. I have sensitive combination skin and also have to find products that are FA safe. This moisturizer checks all those boxes and my skin absolutely loves it. It has never irritated me and feels lightweight on the skin but is also hydrating. I apply it at night and in the morning under my makeup. It is very versatile and gentle. I wish ELF didn't discontinue it. I would do anything for this moisturizer to come back!! ELF PLEEEAAASEEE start selling this godsend again!

After originally giving this product ONE star because if it’s stickiness, I am back to tell you what I have learned through trial and error. This product should and requires the Information to state that the skin MUST BE MOIST before application. I have found that the absorption is much better on moist skin and the sticky factor dissipates much quicker that way. Now I like this product. I have sensitive skin and this does it irritate it at all.

Please bring this back :( This is my go-to moisturizer and is the only thing I've found to meet my needs. I've used it for about 2 years and have found no equivalent. It moisturizes my skin, has a wonderful texture without any residual greasiness, and it was perfect for night and day. PLEASE e.l.f!!

The thing that surprised me the most was the texture. It really is like wet jello. I don't mind it, but if that makes you uncomfortable then steer clear of this one. The formula is very nice and lightweight, but it doesn't feel very moisturizing and I have to follow up with another lotion for my skin to feel soft. Also very sticky on the skin when you put it on, which again I don't mind but it's not for everyone. I just wish it was a little more moisturizing.

I’m allergic to perfumed lotions for my face...and was not sure how this would work with my skin...then I opened it and was surprised to see that it was a clear gel...I have used it sparingly for a month...Awesome moisturizer...I use it at night and my face is so soft - those little lines on my cheeks and around my eyes are simply gone...I’m 69 and my husband said I look years younger...yep! I believed him because I could see such a difference...I put my finger down into the middle and what little sticks to my finger is just enough.More of this lotion turns sticky...so just a dab and it covers your face and neck...dries quickly...What a difference it makes! The price was very low for a good night cream...And not allergic at all, for me, anyway. Amazing Stuff - will last a long, long time, too....Highly Recommend....

I've tried more than a handful of facial moisturizers I always had a burn reaction with them or they're greasy and heavy. It got to the point where I thought maybe it's not what I needed and I rather have the dry tight feeling skin. Someone told me to try E.L.F initially I was turned off because how can a make up company make a good skin product. I was incredibly wrong and ignorant. It's a jelly first off, that's different it's not a lotion. It literally is a jelly. Second thing is it instantly dissolves into the skin no layer or barrier ontop of the skin. I was waiting for that familiar burning sensation I've felt with all moisturizers and then nothing happened I felt my face and it felt soft. I was an currently am still in awe when I use it. You do not need a lot of product I kind of run my finger on the jelly top (you can break it up if you want) and just apply to my face as I feel I need. Incredibly lightweight I just never thought this was possible with a product I could afford.

First, let's get the texture out of the way - this is a JELLY. A little off-putting at first but it melts into your skin like any other gel product.That said, this is going to replace my HG moisturizer, Neutrogena Hydro Boost. I feel like it does a much better job at actually moisturizing, has a nice smooth finish, sits under makeup nicely, and is lightweight. Most importantly, it doesn't have fragrance. I have super super sensitive skin and fragrance generally irritates my skin or breaks it out. I haven't had any breakouts since switching to this moisturizer.Best of all, the price point is better. Not MUCH better, but the Hydro Boost inflation is ridiculous. 17 bucks? Nah. I'm glad they jacked up the price so much that I went looking elsewhere, because this fits the bill much better overall.
