Love the juicer, works well w/ the Gerson Therapy. It's been a workhouse 40+ days straight. Cleaning is quick. Recommend a 4 cup pyrex glass bowl w/ this besides the one they give you to catch pulp.Here's some background why to juice.I have a Netflix account. Saw The Beautiful Truth and later the Gerson Miracle. Had a lump in my throat that was literally choking me when I ate. Bought the book, started juicing. I can swallow most of the time now and hope to be cured in time (been a month or so).I've been a pretty healthy guy who's been into athletics and health for a long time. In the past 7 years I've developed bad habits. With the combination of the Gerson method and exercise, I feel better now than in a long time. Used to run 3-5 miles a day. Just started again...feeling healthy enough to do so. Blood pressure has dropped w/ out meds also (from 154/114 to 127/68 the other day). Cravings for juice and feeling good are stronger than any drug I've taken in the past. You honestly feel kind of light headed/high on life. Maybe that's the way we are supposed to feel.

We have had a green star juicer for over 10 years, never had a single failure. We juice about 2 gallons a week. Works great. Takes less than 10 minutes to clean up.

The interior of the pulp discharge casing and the twin gear housing began peeling off immediately on the first use. The use of the juicer, items juiced and cleaning of parts was done gently and in accordance with the manual.I used the juicer two more times and each time more and more of the material peeled off. That area was never smooth, even when the unit was new out of the box. It was lumpy with an uneven edge, not at all like a molded or machined part should look.This is not a good indication of how durable the machine is.The manual is frustrating and hopeless in spots. Two issues: 1) The manual says squeaking is normal and should not cause concern. Elsewhere on the same page it states the opposite. "If you hear any squeaking sound, your juicer may need lubrication... do not be intimidated... please call your service center for instructions on how to lubricate your juicer." In other words, squeaking is not serious unless it is serious, so call and wait on the phone and then we will tell you how to lubricate it. If they couldn't put the instructions in the manual with illustrations or photos, then they are going to describe it to you over the phone. 2) The manual did not say which way to move the on button, up to cause the gears to rotate toward each other or down, to cause the gears to rotate away from each other. Single auger juicers work with the vegetable pressed against the side of the chute, so I could have wrongly assumed to press the on button down, however, I figured that up was the correct way. To make sure, I wrote to the manufacturer. Several days later they sent a note saying, press the button toward the nose of the machine. The button doesn't go that way; it moves up and down and not side to side.When I saw the peeling away of the inside of the two housing parts, I had already had my confidence in the company shaken. I was willing to put up with the extraordinary difficulty of cleaning the machine, because I believed it was supposed to be well designed and well made, but after receiving it and having this experience, I am returning it.The only good thing was buying it through Amazon and being able to return it with Amazon support. If I had bought it directly from Tribest, I have the feeling there would have been a lot more uncompensated inconvenience from a bad decision based on trust.Before initiating a return, I contacted Tribest, supplying them every detail of the purchase and the problem. Four days later they sent me an email asking me to supply the information I already gave them in the email they were responding to. Instead of having to lose more time tussling with such a frustrating company, it took me only two clicks to get it returned here for a full refund.The very next day I got a shipment of the Healthy Juicer, a single auger manual juicer I had suspected was a plastic toy, owing to the low price, and passed over until it was my last option. Incredibly, it far outperforms the Tribest in all categories, ease of use, ease of cleaning, footprint, durability, best for wheatgrass, price ($85).

I recently found out that i had Cancer. So of course I wanted to fight it with healthy nutrition. I knew that i had to stop eating sugar because cancer cells love sugar, but I did not know what else to do. Okay start juicing. i have had a Juiceman juicer for a number of years but no one could locate it. My friend had been bragging for years about her juicer and I read the product reviews on this site so i decided to buy this juicer. She had bragged that the pulp is dry which proved that this juicer removed all of the liquid possible from the plant. She told me that this machine crushes the plant at a lower speed than the juiceman so it does not get over heated and possibly kill the vital enzymes. You then have 72 hours to drink the juice. Hopefully the healing juices that I am drinking will help me live and be healthy.

The Greenstar Gold Juicer is a BIG disappointment! It's no better than my solo star 2. Both juicers create a lot of foam when juicing kale, broccoli, dandelion, spinach and other leafy green vegetables. You're left with no choice but to strain the juice several times which oxidizes the juice even more. The pulp form this juicer is no more drier than the masticating juicers. In fact, upon initial start up, you can see juice running out pulp ejector. This juicer is all Hyped up and not worth the money plus its made in Korea. I will be investing in the Norwalk juicer since it's superior to all other juicers....the price is a bit high but the juicer is US made and comes with a 12 year warranty. The vortex cutter on the Norwalk is designed to rip open the cell walls of the vegetables/fruit which provides better assimilation. From the video's of the actual product in use, I've seen virtually no foam from leafy green vegetables and that saves money because you're not throwing the foam away which essentially is the vegetable. Good bye Greenstar...Hello Norwalk!! Folk's don't waste your money on the greenstar!!

I have had one of these for around 20 years and although it's not the fastest or easiest system to use, in my opinion it makes the best juices by far a domestic unit.I have just bought a replacement, just because mine is getting worn out, and rather than rebuild it with replacement parts. I figured new was the best way to go.It's like every juicer on the market you have to get used to it. Once you do you'll not be disappointed with this juicer.The screens are relatively easy to clean, just make sure to us e the supplied cleaning brush.I hope after 20 years of use that their support is as good as it used to be.
