Great Well-Made Flashlight But Wish It Were More Like a Maglite in Certain Ways
The flashlight is very well-made and incredibly bright, almost too bright to use outdoors at night (it ruins your night vision). But I wish it were more like a Maglite in a number of ways. For one thing, the on/off button is inconveniently on the back end of the device, and you can't just depress the button to shine a beam momentarily. You have to click on, then click off. Also, the initial click turns on a blindingly bright high beam. To get to the "low" beam you have to cycle through two more off, then on again click sequences. Then, if you have the light off for more than 20 seconds, you'll have to cycle again the same way to get back to the desired low-beam setting once more. It would be great if you could just momentarily flash the beam without having to click on/off, and if you could pick the desired "on" beam intensity from the three possible brightness levels without the endless cycling. With the Maglite and a twist of the flashlight head, I could get an almost parallel beam that could be focused at variable distances to spotlight an object. With the S2500 Gearlight, the zoom goes from a very broad beam to a much narrower but still expanding beam. My main use of a flashlight is to wander my 3/4 acre yard when the sprinkler system is running at night and ensure none of the rotor heads are caught up on any grass runners or other yard debris and not blast the neighbors' bedroom windows with a very bright light.I decided to put single-use Lithium AA batteries in my Gearlight to avoid the alkaline battery leaks that have plagued my Maglite (and why I purchased a Gearlight). If you leave the Gearlight full-on for any length of time, the metal shell, especially around the lens, gets very warm. Fortunately, my usage requires only momentary use of the beam. Otherwise, I would think the device would eat its way through batteries rapidly (I haven't owned the S2500 long enough to tell. I will update my battery endurance experience after a summer of use).In short, the Gearlight is a very high-quality flashlight with some annoying idiosyncrasies. The brightness of its highest beam is amazing but causes serious eye strain if you look at anything nearby with it with your pupils fully dilated from night darkness. If you could focus the beam more, you wouldn't need such a bright light and could conserve battery power more. An ability to set the default ON setting to "low beam" would help my use case for the Gearlight. But it's a great little flashlight, and when I want to turn night into day, I have that ability in a very compact, well-made form factor.

Super Bright and Reliable — My Go-To Truck Flashlight
The GearLight S2000 punches way above its price point. I keep it in my 2025 GMC Sierra AT4 as my dedicated truck flashlight, and it’s come in handy more times than I can count — especially during detailing, roadside checks, and nighttime camping setups. It’s seriously bright, with an impressive beam range and good spread. The build feels durable, and the size is ideal — big enough to feel solid in the hand but not too bulky to store in the glove box or center console. For the price, it’s hard to beat. If you want a bright, reliable flashlight that doesn’t break the bank, this is it.

Take them at their word in their headline above starting with "Powerful.....
I cannot rate battery life as I haven't used it long enough but would assume if you know you would be using it for any prolonged time, use the least brightness level that you need at the time. I enjoy the larger feel of this flashlight (due to the 6 AA cells inside)- it is not really small but comfortable to hold and carry. It has a very bright zoom-able beam. It employs a square LED light source (make not given). At zero zoom the flashlight projects a larger bright square image on a wall 20ft away. Moving away, the image grows larger with distance and so at say 150 ft (not exact) it will nicely illuminate the whole side of a 2 story house. So if you are looking for what everyone calls a "torch" this may not be what you want; but it is not advertised as one but throws a lot of light. The variable beam expands as a circle not a square. The beam opens up to a circle as you zoom out with inherent dimming as the angle increases and light is spread over a larger area. At the widest setting my entire garage is filled with light and would probably do well in a warehouse situation or on the trail where you needed to see more around you but still have the punch to zoom in to a narrower beam for distance. So if you are looking for a rugged, very bright, no frills flashlight that will keep you out of the dark wherever you are, this is a great buy for the price. It doesn't do SOS or rapid blinking, but has 3 brightness settings. I am very happy with this purchase and recommend it if you are looking for a bright, zoom-able flashlight at a good price.

Gear Light Mid-size flashlight
This Gear Light LED flashlight is a mid-size flashlight. It can use AA batteries or a lithium rechargeable battery (18650 3.7v) A sleave is provided for the thinner lithium battery. I have only used AA batteries to date. There is an attached lanyard. It easily changes modes, and it is easy to zoom. The On/Off -Mode switch is on the butt of the unit and is a raised bright red button about a half inch across. It has a firm feel and click when pressed (easy to find and press without looking) I like the features and the very bright LED. This is the second of these Gear Light Flashlights I have purchased and it is sturdy, well-made. I bought the first Gear Light about a year ago. I think the cost is very competitive and reasonable. I consider this a GOOD BUY.

Good flashlight
The flashlight is really bright and impressive for the size. It does get pretty hot after a while though. Battery life is okay, but I wish it lasted longer. Build quality feels solid and it’s comfortable to hold.
