It works
My original one magically disappeared (maybe “someone”) accidentally threw it out during a rushed cleanup?This one doesn’t fit my mandolin as well as the original but it does the job which ultimately is all that matters

Nice long prongs
They curved design protects my hand. Once you secure your vegetable, the rounded plunger cap fits comfortable under my palm allowing me to apply constant pressure. I love that this has nice long prongs. It is easy to secure an onion & thin-slice it on my mandolin, right down to the cap.I have tried & thrown away 6 other brands. So happy I finally found one of the quality that actually holds vegetables securely & fully protects my hands. Mandolins are great kitchen tools but can also be dangerous. Safety is paramount.I can recommend this 100%

Would be better to package it with the special mandolin slicer
I see no reason to separate this safety holder from the sharp slicer except inconsiderate greed and inconvenience to find the matching part. I would pay a higher price for the set if I want waffle fries bad enough !

Safety First!
I've had my v-slicer for over 20 years now and a few months ago the holder finally gave out to usage. After a few attempts at slicing potatoes and a near miss, I decided to buy a new one. I thought I was going to have to buy a new slicer, but found this holder. It works great.
