I bought this about 6 years ago for the first time in the Legend scent. And then I bought the beard oil. And then I bought the beard shampoo. And I will never buy another brand. This stuff smells amazing, keeps facial hair soft, and it keeps it from getting itchy. The ONLY downside is that its EXTREMELY easy to overdo it which will make your beard greasy, but thats the worst possible thing about it.You won't be disappointed.

I purchased this based on the reviews of the scent. My wife is very picky about how I smell and won’t kiss me if she doesn’t like how my beard smells. I’ve gone through a few different brands of oils, balms and conditioners. Most of them have a dirty pine-charcoal or sandalwood vanilla scent, but this one hands down is my new favorite. I enjoy putting balms in my beard, but it’s a plus when it smells good. If I would describe how it smelled, I would say, in the tin it smells like clean powder old spice/axe. On my beard it definitely smells more of a light cologne. Not over powering at all and lasts most of my work day. I have yet to try their legend scent, I’m sure I’ll purchase it soon.I did have an issue with Amazon shipping it and arriving with it leaking out of the tin, but I contacted Spartan’s Den and they sent me a replacement and a gift for the inconvenience. I wasn’t expecting it so soon either. It’s always awesome when you get such a great product and great customer service. Thanks again.

As the owner of a magnificent and meticulously maintained beard, in between the time spent having to respectfully decline the constant sexual advances of the girlfriends/wives of my non-bearded counterparts and serving as a beacon of manliness to pretty much, well... everyone, I place great importance on the grooming and pampering of what physicists have recently hypothesized to be the center of the universe: My Beard.Normally partial to beard oils, as opposed to balms, I decided to give the Spartan's Den Premium Beard Balm a try. I found this balm to be easily applied, perfect for when you really just don't give a sh*t. While harnessing the power of my facial locks has proven to be an impossible task, the balm did a pretty good job of getting the beast to relax a bit.This balm made itself at home inside my beard farily quickly... Similar to the way a homeless man settles into a fully stocked kitchen. Quite frankly, this Spartan's Den balm was lucky to be in my beard... as gaining entry to this masterpiece that grows from/sits upon my face is no easy task, as mentioned before... just ask your girl.Overall, I give this beard balm 3/5 stars. It gets the job done, but that's it. I feel as though it was over-priced, as well. Having been given entry to my glorious facial bristles, I feel as though Spartan's Den balm owes me money, to be honest. Having been completly immersed in what one can only refer to as the holy grail of facial hair, the balm's performance was unremarkable despite the remarkability of its environment.

I started with the Spartans Den "Revive" (tea tree/mint) I was so impressed with that scent I opted to get this one as an alternative. I am very pleased with the scent! (And obviously the quality & improvement it has offered) It's very hard for me to describe accurately. Here is my attempt; clean, fresh, powdery (not like baby powder, like the powder a fine barber uses towards the end of your cut), little or no musk type aroma (that I notice) besides that powder scent), scented soapy clean, like an "old" barbershop. (less the smell of hair oils, tobacco smoke and excess cheap aftershave)...very hard tp describe. It goes well with spring/summer scented cologes. Its not musky, spicy, citrusy, clove like, no anise or anything shocking. Very nice, clean and light...try it the way the products work in regard to quality of whiskers i.e. follicle, root, sebaceous gland, shaft. (from the cuticle to the cortex not before effecting the medulla though) I will eventually try the "Legend" scent & reorder the others as they deplenish.

Somehow by the grace of god I ordered this beard balm first (underscore first) and it made my face comfortable enough to keep going. Had I ordered any number of the (now) three other balms I would've hung it up and shaved due to discomfort. The only reason I strayed away was to find a scentless balm, all of whichr haven't done what this balm has done, KEEP MY FACE COMFORTABLE, and not scratchy and itchy.The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is though it completely outperforms all others in the comfort department, the smell though pleasant enough, clashes with any other smell-good I put on. So good people of Sparten's Den, if you want to do something great, make a scentless version you'll have buyers for life. Will keep an eye out : )

I bought this product for my husband who has dry skin that gets quite irritated when he grows a beard. I've purchased other beard balms before form other companys that worked well, but I thought maybe I would try a new brand. The Spartans Den Premium Beard Balm is comparable to other brands that are on the market. It is easy to apply and the small amount you get goes a long way. My husbands itchy face stopped almost immeidately after he started using the beard balm, and I noticed a signifigant difference with the softness of his beard. I also like the scent of this beard balm. Some balms are scent free, and I was a little weary to purchase one with a sent.
