I’m a tool guy. I have often researched and tried many edged tools for carpentry, wood carving, camping, cooking, EDC, and just for personal preference – before settling on a design and specifications that I feel works the best, at least for me. Several years ago, I discovered this Serbian style of chef knife, and found it delightful for all-around kitchen and camp use. This “Grand Sharp” 8-inch model (edge is actually 7 7/8”) is a great fit and exceptional at its price point. Some Japanese- and Chinese- “cleaver” type knives can cost several hundreds of dollars and won't exceed this tool’s utility. It is well balanced, and has a useful edge curve. The 56 Rockwell hardness is perfect for maintaining its very sharp edge. This is not intended to be a heavy meat cleaver; but with its thin profile and attractive “hand hammered” appearance, it is perfect for mincing, chopping and cutting ingredients. The leather sheath will go well with my camp gear, and make this a favorite outdoors barbeque and camp chef tool. It does everything a basic chef's knife does, plus it adds extra surface area and spine for food handling convenience. I like it!

My wife wanted one of those knives in the commercials where the wife supposedly gets one for her man, and he's so happy. Well, I checked them out, and they were ridiculously expensive. I found this one instead, the blade is amazingly sharp and strong. This is a FULL TANG knife, which is what you should be looking for. In other words, the piece of metal for the knife extends all the way into the bottom of the handle. This thing cuts meat, gives you a great veg chop, and comes gift boxed along with a sturdy leather sheath. My wife fell in love with it.

You can’t beat this knife. I never write Amazon reviews but this knife deserves one. It’s strong with that full tang, very sharp, and the weight feels natural. Makes dicing vegetables even faster. The indentations in the upper half keep foods from sticking as you cut. Plus this knife just looks badass. Totally recommend

The Grand Sharp Chef's knife will be an excellent camp or yard knife; the handle is comfortable; the blade is substantial enough to be workable, but not enough to be cumbersome. The well-made leather sheath is far more durable than the nylon sheaths that come with other fixed blade knives.The hammered finish on the blade is beautiful. My photos don't do it any justice.

This knife came shaving razor sharp. Like sharp sharp! Cuts vegetables paper thin Cuts meat clean and even, Chops chicken bones good too. When i finish with chopping or mincing it works like a spatula. So far it's becoming a kitchen favorite. Great price for the product i received.
