The exterior seems fine but the interior where it was molded is sharp enough to shred Betta fins. This interior part also snapped at a soft touch becoming sharper then before. Probably ok for shrimp but don't put it in with your Betta.

I bought this log as it had great reviews and thought my fish would like it. Within a week of putting it in the water 2 of my fish died and 3 shrimp. I then noticed the inside paint on the log was peeling off. Clearly not made for being in a fish tank. My poor fish were ingesting this stuff.

I took this out of the package to inspect and wash before adding it to our betta tank, and promptly cut myself. The interior edges are so sharp, and the inside of ours had what look like plastic drips that broke off easily, leaving sharp spikes. Thoroughly unsafe for any fish, particularly bettas. Returning immediately.

It took about 5 rounds of soaking in water for 24 hours then allowing to dry each time for the resin to become fully cured and not emit a toxic smell. Then I had to use a grinding bit to sand down the sharp edges (which were EVERYWHERE), as sandpaper wouldn't cut it. Finally, I used Krylon to *properly* seal it to prevent anything from leeching into the aquarium water. I honestly feel that if I would've simply tossed this into the tank, I would've had a dead fish and a sad child to deal with.I only chose to go through this because the item was already received, admittedly looks very nice and is a size that's perfect for our Betta. I would definitely NOT recommend.

My baby axolotls like to go in it sometimes but they usually hang around it or go on top of it it’s a pretty nice decoration I would buy it again if they could stay the same size
