Simply the best!
I've had a pair of these since the 1980s and they were getting a bit tatty to say the least, so I treated myself to the current model. Very comfortable, nice and bright so hard to mislay, really good sound isolation.I use them for hammer drilling around the house, grinding, vacuuming and virtually anything that is noisy, as they keep the level down so well. 3M are a great manufacturer of safety products and these are a fine example of their product.Don't waste your money saving a pound or two on lesser brands - these are worth every penny!

Lightweight and effective
I bought these primarily to protect my ears when working in noisy computer rooms. They take the noise down to a stress-free level and fit neatly and comfortably over my mobile's ear-phones so my colleagues don't have to shout (back in their open-plan office) to be heard. They work fine also when using a petrol lawn mower and hedge trimmer; so much so that, again, I can wear my headphones and listen to music. Frankly, it's nice taking them off after you've finished what you were doing and having full hearing immediately, rather than going through that period of acclimatization where you're slightly deaf for a period.I don't know how they'd fare in an industrial environment, but for more domestic purposes they totally fit the bill.

It does the job
Use it in my wood working project. Comfortable. It does the job. I'm not sure how much noise it reduced but I'd say that it reduced to a level acceptable to me.

A Good Compromise To Wear In Bed When You Have Noise Next Door
I bought a '3M Peltor Optime III Earmuffs' a few years back to counter anti-social neighbors next door keeping me awake until 4.30 in the morning. People used to go to pubs in the evening and late night but now they scream and yell all night in their paper-thin house extensions or in the garden without a thought for the people who live nearby. My first set were effective at blocking the noise but uncomfortable to wear in bed. It's a bit like trying to sleep with a couple of saucepans strapped to your ears. It's impossible to lie on your side. I therefore gave these a try looking for less sound reduction and more comfort. They work. I can lay on them on my side in bed. They don't block out as much noise as my saucepan pair but unless the neighbors are being especially selfish they are a good compromise. You can always increase effectiveness by putting little rubber ear plugs in your ears under the ear protectors to give two layers of protection.

DO WHAT THEY SAY - GOOD VALUE
Bought these for my nine year old son who is Autistic & suffers from sensory issues. I'd read reviews on the ones which are specifically for children & was concerned they may be too small/tight for him. These are spot on - good quality, easy to adjust & fit well. Izaak immediately put them on (they use ear defenders at his school) & now keeps them on a shelf near his marble run - he doesn't even need to be encouraged to wear them now, he just puts them on when he needs to.Was so impressed with them that I bought a pair for myself to use for working with machinery - good bit of kit

Comfortable ear protection for domestic use
I have a big head and big ears, so most ear defenders aren't too comfortable. These are very adjustable, perfectly comfortable, I can wear them for hours without any discomfort. Not too bulky, do't get in the way. They reduce noise levels significantly, I use them when mowing the lawn or using noisy power tools, but can still hear enough to tell if the phone rings or my wife shouts at me... I may buy one of the bulkier, more expensive versions for when I want perfect tranquillity, but these are good for now. BTW I bought some Peltor hearing defenders (for pistol shooting) 35 years ago, used them a lot, and they've only just started to fall apart; 3M bought Peltor, the design seems very similar.

Excellent
With safety in mind this is a must for protecting your hearing from diy home machinery. It really cuts out a lot of noise. I wear both glasses and safety glasses at the same time with these earmuffs and it is still comfortable and effective.

Great Product
Only ever biught the cheap ear defenders in local shops however totally unimpressed so decided to try these after reading reviews.I am not disappointed either, whilst working am usually bombarded by dogs barking and noisy nieghbours plus the constant heavy traffice passing by my houseToday I put these on and not only found they comfortable but I would say 85% of that noise was just not there........brilliant product happy to highly recommend
