Python PY69HD Brass Adapter for Aquarium, 1 Count (Pack of 1)

This is a perfect replacement part for the python syphon kit. It replaced the plastic white tap adapter and is a far better item and fit. Should last a life time being brass but if not for the £7 I'll get another one in a few years of the seal ever fails.

This is a must if you have the Python system as the original plastic adaptor provided with the kit is not very hard-wearing. In my case, the original plastic adaptor got stuck on the tap & I ended up damaging the thread a bit when removing it, even though I wrapped it in a cloth before removing with mole grips. The brass item is great, no such issues with this adaptor & it should provide many years of service.

Looks like a quality product, certainly a lot better than my plastic version so it's not likely to get thread damage. Happy

This item is quality brass but could have been improved by milling out 2 flats to allow decent spanner tightening and provide a better seal - mine leaks when I use it and grips do not provide adequate purchase. Despite this it is better than the plastic or base metal parts often supplied as part of the tap (faucet) components.

Far better than the plastic one packaged with the python.Fits internal and external threads on tap by way of removable rubber seal in the adapter.Shame it doesn’t come packaged with python in the first place but compared to costs of other things in aquarium hobby its not that much.

Could not live with out this for my python! The one that come with the python it made of plastic and is just not good enough, It does not make it air-thight mich makes the suction very bad. But this litlle fella does the trick and is super quality!Note, I use this for my kitchen sink in denmark if that gives you any clue to if it will fit your sink.

EXCELLENT. If you have a plastic one where the threads have wore away, this is the perfect replacement. I ordered both this brass one and another spare plastic one to be sure I had one as I urgently needed to do my tank. they were both the same connector piece and this one is by FAR the best and it was cheaper too!!

I bought this based on comments about the python water change system not working on UK taps without it, which isn't true - the plastic one provided fits just fine. This could still have been a worthwhile purchase as a more robust fitting, but unfortunately it's useless. The reason for the poor score is that this is provided without an o-ring to create a seal, there is also no indent for the o-ring to sit in, so as a result you will always have water pouring out everywhere then you use it. I really don't understand how it works for anyone without a seal. The plastic adaptor provided with the python water changer doesn't have a seal either, but at least has an indent allowing you to add one - I added the correctly sized o-ring and now it works perfectly.
