Q: Is this approved to go thru TSA screening?

I can't see why not, but I have not travelled with it. The wrap is just foam fabric and Velcro. The ice pack is gel and very well contained and has been long-ladting for me. I would check with TSA though before trying.

There is no insert. The whole hip area is an icer

Q: Sizing: I have 46 inch waist . Will this fit me? What is an extension strap?

I’m pretty sure as it measures 55 inches from end to end and the straps are stretchy. I use the smaller extension strap to attach the ice pack around my thigh when using it for my hip. I suppose it could be added to extend the fit. I’m very happy with this product. Hope this helps.
