Top stuff
Have been playing this piece for a couple of months now and absolutely love it. I cannot put my alto down. If you're after a thick alto sound in the New York Meyer tradition this is definitely worth checking out. These are far better made than the current production Meyers and are a viable alternative to the 'vintage' Meyers which are better but trade at silly prices of £700-800 and beyond. I find they are quite versatile pieces with a sound you can mold with time. I think the D5M would also be a great student upgrade as well. I commend D'Addario for making such a good mouthpiece at a great price. Amazon is also cheaper than most music shops so. Well done.

Comfortable, great sound
I used to use a Cannonball Classic C* mouthpiece which I used to use for all styles (I didn't venture into classical although the mouth piece was made for classical) but I knew I needed a new mouthpiece. I went to my local sax store and tried out a few mouthpieces and the one that I kept going back to was the D'Addario D6M. Ordering on Amazon proved to be much cheaper and so, I bought it on here.So much more open and delivers a nice thick tone and is such a joy to play on. Pitch bending notes and even playing difficult intervals (A to D with out stumbling into ghost notes or even venturing into overtones) proves to come quite easy too.Overall very pleased with the purchase and would recommend it to anyone.

Really good mouthpiece, plays great in the upper register, has very good projection and is in tune. Also a big plus point is the price, very good value.

Great jazz mouthpiece
I bought this product to use on my alto saxophone in my university swing group and big band and it did not fail to disappoint. Brilliant sound and tone.

Great mouthpiece.
Great mouthpiece, suits me, I play with a D'Addario 2H Reed and remain very satisfied with the tone and easy playability. Quite surprised, it's now my main mouthpiece for the band use.

Warm tone
This gives a lovely warm broad tone to my tj SR alto, it produces a full range of notes with java red no. 2 reeds, the 6M enables a fair amount of pitch bending as well. I use the mouthpiece with a ROVNER MKIII-C1RL ligature, which might account for some of the warmth, they are a great combination.

Didn't play as well as I'd hoped.
This had really rave reviews and I was looking forward to playing this. For me, the 6 facing was perhaps a bit too open and I didn't find it as responsive as my existing mouthpiece across the range. In particular, a couple of notes became stuffy which I've never had before. I tried a few different brands and strenghts of reeds but pretty soon was convinced it's not for me. That said, many people really rate this so it may work for you. The Amazon price an ddelivery were very good - a considerable saving over most music shops and they colected it for a full refund at no charge.

Awesome sound!
This mouthpiece is fantastic! Huge sound, but with the ability to play quietly too. Best dynamic range I've experienced.
