Having a great time
I've owned this combo for roughly a year now, and have to be honest... it hasn't let me down yet. My piscifun reel gave out and my abu garcia was slow with a quiet clicker. Only the zebco has held up. Caught a number of channel cats with it, large snapping turtles lol, and made countless casts with 1lb baits. Excellent-loud clicker, and I like the lever release. The rod action is perfect for catfish. I'm one really big flathead away from swearing off all other brands for catfishing.***2 year Update*** Zebco was SO CLOSE with this one. Not changing rating because I don't believe this combo deserves all the hate it gets. The rod alone is easily worth the 70 bucks. Seriously, I've owned a grand worth of rods - ugly stiks, abu garcias, and madkatz to name a few. None ever came close to the sensitivity / backbone balance of this rod. I can see bullhead bites just as easy as I muscled in a 16lb flathead. VERSITILE. In other words, no other single rod can catch bait and monsters alike as effectively. Only downside in my opinion is the line guide should be a traditional-style metal guide. My line guide slipped out but that's nothing a little glue can't fix. And it's REPLACEABLE!!!!! Life happens, rods and reels break and get lost all the time. Professionals know a good rod/reel combo isn't one that costs 300$ every time accidents happen. When it comes to value for your money, Zebco remains King.

The reel fell apart during the very first thow
Would not recommend and is one of the worst poles I have ever bought. Parts of the reel fell off the very first cast and locked the reel up. Very poor quality

Bad design
Pieces fell apart while i was fishing had to try to glue back on. Will by new reels someday but not from ZEBCO!

Budget
It’s OK. Biggest thing for me is the reel not clicking on after turning the spool if you leave it open. Also the reel just feels a little loose if that makes sense rod is good tho. Its still a good tool to learn on I guess.

Not what you expect
I used it 3 times on the 3rd time the reel gets stuck reeling complete garbage and was expecting much more from a zebco
