Oliver Twist: 2 (Classics Illustrated)

I bought this book for my seven yr old boy as he needed a book for school. It is very easy to follow the story and the illustrations make it more interesting for this age group, he really enjoyed reading this book and I would buy more books in this series. I would recommend this book to all ages.

A present for our grandson and an excellent way to get him into the Classics. Will be buying more. One of the few things that has maintained its appeal from when I was a boy and capable of being passed on: unlike many present-day comics.

Great classic

Bought this in yet another attempt to persuade the family that reading is fun. It worked!! These marvellous new books (I don't remember them from first time around) are accessible for all ages - even the younger ones loved the pictures. Caught the almost teenager devouring the first set, and reading them to his brother. The pages are vivid, even the pc obsessed one thought they were cool. They are abridged, but hey - they are reading, for fun, at last!!

A terrific abridgement of a wonderful novel. The quality and vividness of the pictures helps to keep the interest of those younger readers, but the overall quality of the comic as a whole suits even the adult audience.

What a great way to present such classic literature to younger audiences! The notes section in the appendices seems particularly useful to get kids thinking about the structure and theory behind the text...

I remember finding the old versions of these in my dad's attic as a kid and reading through them time and time again. When I saw they'd been re-released I immediately got myself a subscription and am reading through them all over again!

That wonderful book - bought to life in a wonderful manner. A must for any student - young or old.
