Best model for the money. Works great and the long antenna increased range a good bit.

Easy to use once get learn to program. Once I connected to the repeater I was transmit across the city.

Does it Tx 8 watts on High power? YESDoes it have 1000 channels you can write GMRS frequencies to for Tx? YESCan you write 70cm & 2M bands into it for Rx? YESCHERP compatible? YESGood antenna out of the box? "NO" tested poorly at 2.4 on the SWR meter when transmitting on HIGH. Did fine with a NagoyaNOTE: Its a UV-5G for old people with its bigger buttons and screens but now you can write on all the channels... and there is nothing wrong with that.

Great GMRS radio for the cost. Reception is good. Easy to use and program. Has all most all the functions you would want on a GMRS radio.

I got exactly what I ordered. The unit has simple scanning and other features , the only thing I have is the manuals print is to small looking for manual larger print .

the USB cable did not come with a cd that allows you to download the drivers that make communication possible between software and the radio, but searching online yielded the proper drivers and under a certified executable.So far no issues with receiving signal, definitely prefer the larger antenna that comes alongside the radio.It has a dedicated button for FM radio and for searching NOAA channels. they both have a seek feature which is really useful for quickly finding a clean channel.
