Hiija Self-Adjusting Wire Stripping Tool, 8 Inch Wire Stripper

My husband has quiet an impressive collection of tools however he did not have anything like this coaxial crimper. We are seasonal campers and last year when were setting up we realized we needed a longer coaxial cable to reach the outdoor antenna. My mom had some extra cable at home so she gave it to us however it is a 100 ft cord. We used it however we had a large amount of it just sitting wound up as there was no way for us to shorten the cord to the length we needed. This year that will not be an issue with this neat little apparatus. The tools seem very easy to work with. My husband right away tested them out and said they work very well. This is not really something that we will reach for daily, however it is an awesome tool to have. I am impressed with the quality and its ease of use. This is a great set for the cost.

was looking for an affordable crimp tool for light use around the house for the home network. This one did the job as expected. the blade is sharp and the notch for stripping was the right size. The grip is comfortable but the pin took a little extra effort to place into the RJ45 slot the first couple of times. Since then its been easy to slide in and crimp. I guess it needed to get a little 'breaking in'.

All the items worked great. The cable stripper is the best thing in the world for doing your own connectors. There is nothing better than having cable runs that are the right length instead of ending up with a ton of extra.Our HD antenna was able to pick up over 40 channels with the closest antenna being 35 miles from our location.I am sure the quad-shielded cable helped, but the right cable length with the proper connectors surely made a difference.

Used this to do house wiring on a central 110 punchdown block, and some jacks in the rooms. The tool performed great. The wire stripper worked great for removing the outer sheathing on the CAT5 cable, the cutter on the 110 tool worked great, and trimmed the wires as they were punched down. Overall very satisfied with this tool.

Heavy duty. My husband needed one of these to do electrical work on his motorcycle. This does the job & he likes it!

This item was very easy to use . I had to enlist the help of my electrician friend because I didnt really know what I was doing but he said they were sturdy and easy to use. Also came with instructions that were easily read for people who havent used this tool before.

Only issue would be the lack of any sort of instructions with the tools. That would make things a bit difficult for someone not familiar with this type tool.

EDIT...About a week after this initial review, the business that provides this product contacted me several times through phone calls and email. They really wanted to make it up to me by offering me a replacement or a different style crimper to try out. I told them yes, I'll try another one out. A while later I received the new one in the mail, and it was a much better quality product. The only catch is that it was a product under a completely different name, but I'm assuming it is owned by the same people. The new crimper is from Solsop, which sells for a bit more here on Amazon. So my original review still stands based on the first product, I would not recommend this one. But if you search for the Solsop one, it's a great tool at a decent price. Same company and owners and they very much care about customer service, so I decided to raise my review from 1 star to 3 star. Thank you for the replacement!!**At first glance of this product and the reviews, it sounds like a solid product. I was excited to use it because I work in the security/fire alarm/networking business, and using these tools is an everyday thing. Unfortunately, this tool falls short on consistent performance. Out of 10 RJ45 connectors on a CAT6 cable, it failed to crimp pins 7+8 four of those times, and had a hard time with pins 1+2 the other times. Unlike other tools of this type, typically you'll find that they will cut the excess wire as you crimp the connector. This is not the case with this product, which is aggravating because you have to use another tool to get a clean cut of your extra wire. This tool does have a separate blade for cutting but does not cut all of the wire off because the connector can't fit close enough without damaging the connector itself. This tool is cheap for a reason, it does not perform as it should and you should spend an extra $20 and get a higher quality tool that crimps all the pins every time and also cuts your extra wire when doing so.

I had never fixed a coax cable before so I watched a Youtube video, saw that it was easy and bought this cheap kit.I’m sure there are more expensive cut/crimping tools out there but for home use this is the right quality and price. Don’t pay more then this.Great tools, very happy with this purchase !

Instructions would have been helpful b ut I figured it out. excellent product. Seems pretty sturdy
