Q: I recently ordered two of these. The kits arrived with a date 03/19/2018 on the box. Is this the expiration date or the production date?

The date on the box is the production date, so the kit is valid for 2 years from the date on the packaging. Thank you very much for asking this question.

Q: Some of the mixed liquid got on a porous counter. Should I be throwing away my porous counter now? Not sure what chemical is used for this test kit.

No, there is very very little chemical (0.04%) and 99.96% is water. Simply wipe it with wet soap or atibacterial towel and wash your hands afterwards.

Q: I want to sell my 2006 fema converted travel trailer. it's below freezing in the inside, will this test still work?

We have not tested it at such low temperatures. More inclined towards - no. Since one of the test tubes is 98% water, it would freeze during the testing time.

Q: How sensitive is this product to other volatile organics besides formaldehyde? Could a positive reading been due to the presence of another compound?

I believe the test specifically identifies Formaldehyde. I purchased two tests, one I put in my bedroom, which had a reading of 0.03, and one I placed in my living room which had a reading of 0.09. The one in the living room was higher because I just purchased a new couch which uses formaldehyde to preserve the wood so the reading in the living room was higher because of that. I believe both tests were accurate in reading formaldehyde, as I have not had any symptoms of formaldehyde exposure. Hope this helps.
