Wish I could have given it more stars!!
Dear Jennifer,I am sure you have heard this a million times, but your book is so inspiring! I received it in the mail Saturday and was finished with it by Sunday afternoon, I couldn't put it down. I am now re-reading chapters and taking notes.I was so intimidated by some of the other books I read. I kept thinking to myself "I am just not THAT person." I know I can't cold call, the idea makes me shudder and I was convinced that If I wasn't "car-sales" material, then I wouldn't be real estate material as well.Thank you so much for the charming, witty and insightful information! I am truly impressed with not only your sound advice, but the way in which you deliver your message. I am not sure I have had so much fun reading a book in quite some time. All of the advice you put down on paper felt tailor made just for me! And It got me thinking about all the people I know in my SOI, and my list is growing by leaps and bounds!Thank you again so much! I am looking forward to the next installment which I will be ordering this week.Take care and have a wonderful day!~Nikki Knudsen~Northwest Connecticut

For the everyday person seeking a career in real estate
This is not a book about hard sell techniques, making millions overnight, or investing in properties to flip them for a ginourmous profit. Not at all... This book is for people who are either thinking of their first move into the business world as an agent, or who want to switch careers after 30 years of doing something else they just cannot stand anymore. In considering a career in real estate, most sane people would tell you that "now" is not the best time to go into this field. You can say that at just about any time as someone will always have a reason why you should not do something. But if you have that entrepreneurial spirit and love being in control of your own destiny, this is a great business. What Jennifer Allan is so good at here is she lays out the nitty-gritty truth about the industry, some of the major pitfalls and myths about becoming a real estate agent, and how to ignore all the marketing hype and "get rich quick" schemes you will most likely encounter. She then succinctly and clearly lays out a path (with options) of how to become an agent, how hard it will be, what it will likely cost you (financially, mentally and emotionally), and a realistic view of what to expect in your first year (including income). She definitely goes against conventional wisdom and what you may have heard about being an agent, yet her words ring true and you know it the moment you read them. This book is full of common sense, practical advice, and loads of actual checklists and ideas you can actually use in your career. You can also find all this great information and more at her website at sellwithsoul.com. I found it hard to put the book down as it was so informative, so well written, it made me want to jump up and go start my career immediately.Ignore the other books on becoming a real estate agent out there, as they are mostly a rehash of the same old tactics that simply no longer work in this day and age. Learn to sell with soul and you will never regret your decision to take this journey.

Must read for real estate agents who don't think they fit the mold
Exactly what I needed. The entire time I went to real estate school I wondered if I had the right personality type for the job. I am not a pushy person and I am not the salesy-type. But I have integrity and set strict personal standards for myself. There are things I will do and things I won't do if it compromises my integrity. Jennifer's words of advice were so reassuring. I feel like she took my thoughts right out of my head. Her words really resonated with me. What I love about what she has to say is that there IS room for real estate agents like me and that success is possible even with our approach to business. Not only that, she spells out the types of scenarios you may run into as a new agent citing many of her own experiences as examples. If you like her book, you really should check out her website. Jennifer gives lots of free advice but she also offers more intensive help that you can pay for. She is the real deal.

Real Estate Professionals - Ethics and Integrity Count and are Rewarded
Selling with Soul, is a really good book, it brings you back to reality and puts your feet back on the ground. As a Realtor, I get stressed when I miss out on a listing (even though I know it is usually because I have held the line and refused to list a property at an inflated price or the turned down sellers who weren't willing to get their property into sellable condition). Or, when someone I know lists with someone else (usually again, for a lot more than I would have agreed to list for). Well if you are like me and you refuse to set your integrity aside this book will help you relax and put the "lost ones" in perspective. It will make you feel better about passing on some and doing what is best for your clients. It will give you a sense of strength and the knowledge that the National Association of Realtors's Code of Ethics is where you base your business, not just your bottom line. I believe by doing business with integrity, loving what you do and taking care of your clients like you would like to be taken care of you can't help but be successful. Read this book if you need a pick me up, it will give you that and more.

Best Real Estate Sales Book I've Ever Read!
I am one of those readers that swears by Jennifer's book. She has wonderful, practical advice on increasing your sales without selling your soul in the process. Despite all of her success and how busy she must be, she lists her personal phone number and email in the book for anyone who has additional questions or comments. I was so blown away by this that I tried reaching out to her to see if she'd really respond. She does exactly what she says to do in the book...gets back to you same day! I have a lovely, non-rushed phone conversation with her, as well as many email exchanges. She's helpful, professional, and just an outstanding person. A great model for success and integrity. As for anyone bashing her "warm and fuzzy" advice, I'd love to see your sales compared to hers.
