Worked Perfectly Right Out of the Box
This was my first time buying an M.2 enclosure, and I’m really glad I went with this one. Build quality is solid — the aluminum body feels sturdy, not cheap or flimsy. Setup took less than five minutes. I installed a 1TB NVMe drive I had lying around, plugged it in, and it was instantly recognized on both my Windows PC and MacBook.Tested speeds over USB 3.2 Gen 2 and they were right in line with what I expected — fast enough for backups, media editing, and even bootable OS installs. I also appreciate that it supports both NVMe and SATA, which gives me flexibility for older drives. If you’re looking for a no-nonsense, well-built enclosure that just works, this is it. First time buying from SSK and I’d definitely consider their products again.

Working well. handles the heat well.
Well, made. recognized immediately by my mac air. About twenty minutes to install the SSD and get the unit formated and partitioned. I really like the size. During some gigabytes of file movement it got slightly warm. Expected it to get warm. It cooled quickly. If I need another case I will probably buy a second one to put an external SSD in.-- two weeks later--I am just using it as a second drive and don't think about it. I moved 85GB of photos, a lot of research docs, and some music. The case is doing its job. The balance of speed and size of the SSD and the case make it just what I needed.

Worked Well for Me! Quality Product.
The enclosure worked well for my initial purpose of cloning a Windows 10 laptop's OEM NVMe M.2 SSD to a larger capacity, faster Samsung 970 EVO Pro NVMe M.2 SSD using Macrium Reflect software to replace the OEM SSD. The one thing that would be useful in future distributions / iterations of this product would be to include an extra thermal pad (that adheres to the SSD) for when a user might want to more easily later swap other SSD drives out of the enclosure. In my use case, I didn't use the thermal pad in a permanent fashion; instead, I temporarily placed it over the memory chips (without removing the adhesive tape protector) and only partially inserted the circuit board into the enclosure - this approach protected the SSD's chips / circuitry from making direct contact to the enclosure's metal top and worked for me as it was a temporary basis use (just for the time it took me to clone the laptop's SSD).The cable length, connectivity and casing material were fine. If you plan to frequently have need of swapping out various NVMe SSDs in an external enclosure case, you may instead want to consider an enclosure that doesn't require a thermal pad.

Good Enclosure, Problems with Cable, Good Support
---- Updated Nov-24-2022 ----SSK Direct saw my original review and reached out offering to facilitate a replacement cable. As a result, I have increased the rating from 3-star to 4-star. The bad cable cost me a lot of time, so I still can't give the overall product 5stars, but SSK pro-actively reading reviews and offering help is worth an extra star!---- ORIGINAL REVIEW FOLLOWS ----First thing: If you use the USBC-to-USBC cable and have trouble with this drive disconnecting, not being recognized, or slowing to a crawl during data transfer, TRY A DIFFERENT USBC-to-USBC Cable!I initially had tons of trouble with this item. It would work fine at times, but slow down or disconnect randomly at others. I eventually found that rotating one end of the USBC connector 180 degrees -- which should NOT make any difference -- would provide better results, which pointed to a poorly made cable with poor signal transmission on one tx/rx pair. So, I grabbed another USBC-to-USBC cable (a 1ft Amazon Basics, rated for 10gbps) and the enclosure worked perfectly with that. High read/write speed (1,000MB/s and more), consistent transfers, no more disconnects. I also tested with another 3ft (1M) USBC-to-USBC cable, and had great results with that as well. All the initial problems I had were due to the poor quality of the included USBC-to-USBC cable. The included USBA-to-USBC worked reliably, but obviously at lower speeds. To get the higher speeds possible with USB 3.1 gen2, you need a working USBC-to-USBC cable and port.Installing the NVME drive is a little fiddly, due to the washer/nut installation and the "spring loaded" back plate which you have to push down while sliding the drive, a little at a time, into the enclosure. However, that spring load also ensures the drive and thermal pad make good contact with the metal enclosure, which transfers heat away from the drive, so it's a good feature and not a flaw. I never saw over 50C on my Samsung 980pro 1tb in this enclosure. If you intend to frequently swap in/out different nvme drives, a different enclosure design would probably be more convenient; perhaps a "sandwich" design like found on the Sabrent EC-SNVE model -- it is more expensive, but the design makes frequent drive swaps much easier, and it has a chipset that is arguably better as well.In summary, this enclosure is fast and reliable once the included USBC-to-USBC cable is replaced, but that adds cost if you don't already have such a cable. It also works reliably with the included USBA-to-USBC cable, but at much slower speed. Finally, if you intend to frequently swap drives then a different design may serve you better.

Great for PS4 extra storage - Easy Install
Had an extra m.2 from a PC build. Decided to buy this enclosure/usb adapter. I'm using as expanded storage on the PS4. I had to plug into my PC to format to ExFat and used 128kb. Working out really well. Connected with usb 3.0 so its not as fast as on PC but read and write speeds are pretty fast.. I moved roughly 250 gb in about 45 mins.

Great Value & Solid Build — Perfect for Upgrading or Backups
I picked up this SSK M.2 NVMe/SATA SSD enclosure to save the data from my wife's laptop. Put the old SSD into a portable backup and it’s been a solid performer. The aluminum housing is sturdy and feels substantial and the transfer speeds have been impressive.Overall, this enclosure delivers excellent build quality, fast speeds, and versatility at a great price. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to repurpose an SSD for backups or external storage.

Quality SSD Reader
Works well. I was able to recover all my data from my broken laptop. I inserted my ssd card in the reader and plugged it into my new laptop. It recognized my ssd and I was able to transfer all my data on my new laptop.

Great device!
My laptop died and I needed to pull some files from the hard drive. I was a bit confused at first but then I watched a couple of the videos to learn how it worked. It's really simple and works perfectly.
