Canon 5DS / 5DS R Experience - The Still Photography Guide to Operation and Image Creation with the Canon EOS 5DS and 5DS R Kindle Edition

This is a very complicate camera, even if you have the manual or if not which the author recommends you download from Canon.com. By the way, these days Canon does not include the full manual in the box.Good intelligent introduction to important basic features of camera, and more detailed instructions follow describing how to use these functions. Hate that this is only available as an e book. Had to download on Kindle ( because I can not quite follow on my small kindle screens) to my large screen mac in order to read, as I worked through the instructions.If you click on the links in the ebook, you will be taken to a page that will allow you to have access to any updates, for which you need to sign up for, plus an Excel spread sheet setting up basic functions that you might want as a reference.I am upgrading from a Canon EOSD5. I was able to get an older book using this older camera. Unfortunately there are really no more books helping you use this series of camera including the newer Canon EOS 5D S/R.If you are looking for help to use this camera, this is the best choice you can make and worth every cent.

I would have preferred a hard copy of this title to not have to depend on the battries in my tablets, but the content is an addition to the pdf owners manual.

I like this book but hate reading it on the Kindle. I wish this book was available in paperback form!

I second Sue's request for a printed copy of the book. Electronic devices simply are not as easy to read as printed books. The contents, however, were very good. Did a printed copy exist, I would add on a fifth star.

This book is excellent! I am the kind of photographer who wants to know what every single button and menus do and I get detailed explanations for everything. The explanations are very clear and the fact that it is an e-book makes it easy to highlight the passages I want to come back to. The best camera manual I have come across!

In one word, WOW!!! Doug thoroughly covers everything. I was still reading the guide as we took a transatlantic cruise a few weeks ago. I was able to capture some shots that would not be visible in a lower megapixel camera. And Doug tells you exactly how to do it.

Some small quibbles with organization, but basically a great resource on a wonderful photographic instrument!

This is an excellent guide to the 5DS. The author gives comprehensive coverage of the camera and makes specific recommendations for settings, something often missing in these books.

Steps in when the instruction manual leaves off. An excellent book and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Essential reading if you own an EOS 5DS / 5DS-R and want to get the most out of the camera.

Bought the guide to see if I might like this camera. Sadly, as is the nature of this business, things have moved on. The camera would remain a very good tool, as does this guide. Begs the question “Does one really need to keep shelling out for the latest kit?”

Very comprehensive reference guide to this camera. Much better than the canon manual. I just wish it was available in print form as I find this easier for quick reference...

Really good and easy to follow, everything you will ever need to know about the Canon 5Ds and 5Dsr all in one publication, amazing!
