I got these for my nieces. They learned about butterflies in pre k and I thought this would be a great learning experience and core memory builder. The girls loved checking in on the caterpillars, watching them grow and get chunky, then the chrysalis stage, which was hard for them because it takes some time. But watching their faces as the butterflies emerged and dried off was awesome. Also, the coming out of the chrysalis is a lot grosser than I thought lol. Such a great gift idea for young kids! The actual company where you redeem your voucher is very responsive and amazing to work with. When I received one of the cups, a caterpillar had perished. I reached out to the company directly and they quickly replaced the caterpillar and shipped me a new cup.Being able to watch the lifecycle of a butterfly was so much fun and educational for the kids! I would definitely recommend as a home project or for a classroom.

This worked perfect for us to hatch and release butterflies. We did have to order caterpillars separately, but it is great to have this habitat to hatch them over and over. This is perfect for my kids, and even I enjoy the activity. I would highly recommend this.

Maybe this was my fault for not reading the fine print but I did not receive the cup of caterpillars with this kit. You get a voucher and then still have to pay $9 for shipping. The only reason I took off a star is because I had to order the cup of caterpillars separately and wait an additional week to receive my package.Despite that, my caterpillars are thriving and the kit comes with everything that you need. This is a very fun project to do with kids and they learn a lot . I like the little log it comes with to track everything.

The media could not be loaded. This is a great set. We’ve actually used the habitat for many other caterpillar to butterfly experiences. Its easily washed and folds up nicely to store between experiences. The voucher is easy to use and the caterpillars have never failed. We really enjoy all of the insect lore experiences but the butterflies are always our favorite.
