Beautifully made
Well made, really quiet ball winder. Was able to wind 13 hanks in the time it would take to do one by hand. My youngest son was here when I set it up. He is a machinist. He pretty much took over and was pleased with the quality. He also determined. One crank per second was optimal speed for winding 😀 Very nice and smooth.

Beautiful!
Once you work out your tension and a good rhythm this winder is PERFECT. It takes a couple of tries to figure out how tight you want your yarn wound on the ball but once you're going it's easy peasy to sit and spin the pretty little handle. If anybody is wondering- YES, the colorful plate where you wind and the colors under the ball are worth the increase in price. It's so pretty to watch as it spins!

Product is great
I am enjoying the yarn winder a lot. Not only is it beautiful and well made but it is silent. All of the ball/yarn winders I have owned with the metal gears, no matter how much I tried, they were always loud. This one makes no noise at all. The choice in the delivery service(USPS) was terrible. Not only did they delay my package, the carrier lied as to why they didnt deliver it on time. That was the only thing that made this purchase 4 stars instead of 5. It seem like when a package is being delivered by any delivery service other than the ones contracted by Amazon, just don't care if you are a prime member or not. They will deliver when they feel like it. I will be very careful from here out to see how and who my packages will be delivered by.

Excellent Quality for the extra money
I previously ordered a cheaper Ball Winder and am so glad I returned it and spent the extra money to get this one from Knitters Pride. It is truly amazing. Love it!

WRONG Item Sent - Seller "Gatzies" Non-Responsive
This is not a review for the item itself but unfortunately I can not get a response from the seller "Gatzies" so I don't want this to happen to anyone else. The Signature "painted" version of this yarn winder is more expensive than the Natural version. I loved the look of the painted version and that is the one I really wanted which is why I was willing to pay more. The one that arrived was the unpainted, Natural version. I don't live in a location where it is easy to return and get a new one or I would have. Again, this is not a review of the item itself. I really don't love it when people give a bad rating due to something other than the item, yet here I am! The item itself works, kind of. I got it because it said "Mega" Wool Ball Winder. I tried to wind Bernat Softee Super Bulky #6. 100% Acrylic Each skein is 3.5 ounces and approximately 108 yards. Gauge: Knit: 11st x 14r = 4in/10cm on size US11/8mm needles Crochet: 8sc x 9r = 4in/10cm with L11/8mm hook. It did a good job until about the last 1/4 of the yarn and then it got all mucked up and stopped winding nicely and I had to keep stopping and putting the wound yarn back on the cake because it was all falling off. It's kind of a mess and will barely stay on the wound cake. It sure doesn't wind nice cakes like my other yarn winder does with smaller skeins. Although this one would do a lovely job on those as well.

Beautiful, tempted to keep it out on display :)
Absolutely beautiful! And it works like a dream! My yarn stash is now all neatly wound, and the balls feed nicely with pull from either direction—huge plus for two at a time sock knitting :) I did give it a minute dose of WD-40, and it is very quiet and smooth operating.

Absolutely love it! So easy to set up and use
Absolutely love it! So easy to set up and use. Winds very nice cakes of yarn that are easily removed from the winder. So glad I spent what I did on it. It is well worth it’s price. I’d recommend this particular winder to all my fellow knitters who are looking for one!!
