An upgraded version of our best selling morticer, this benchtop morticer has the huge benefit of both lateral (side to side, Y axis) and longitudinal (front to back, X axis) axes. The workpiece is manoeuvred using longitudinal and lateral hand wheels. There's no more jigging and shimming to get the mortice positioning spot on. The table and headstock run on dovetail slides and are provided with adjustable jib strips ensuring years of accurate use. The work clamp is positioned with a locating pin and can even clamp tapered work such as table legs. A gas strut counterbalances the weight of the head and motor. A quiet and cool running alloy bodied motor provides ample power. Stops are provided for both vertical and horizontal movements for repeat work. A useful accessory is the spacer block that can raise the headstock by 50mm, allowing even taller workpieces to be accommodated. Supplied with drill chuck and key, chisel bush and service tools. N.B. takes 3/4" shank chisels only.

Great morticer, great value and can be adapted as a pillar drill
Apart from a minor problem with slightly malformed spacer inlet hole (fixed in 3-4 seconds with a dremmel). This is a brilliant morticer and I also bought the adapter to use it as a pillar drill. Couldn't be happier. Works a treat and is very affordable for the price. Some things worth considering. Has a way of limiting plunge but no measure (again can do this by tape measure to be fair) plus please note this is extremely heavy to lift for one person - it is not a portable item. Best installed in a designated place.
