2nd Chance
I'm on unit #3. The original purchase is still on my motorcycle. I wrote the crappy review below because the unit has some kind of short in it and it keeps blowing the fuses. I even burned my fingertip on a test connection. They replaced it with one with a USB port. I already had a USB connection so I didn't even bother with that one. This one is supposed to be "New and Improved." Well, we'll see. It does look better but it's not the one advertised. It does have the On/Off switch but it's not the one pictured On/Off/USB. Nope... it's just On or Off. This one doesn't have the inline 10A fuse and holder. So, here we go again with the direct connect unless you can manage to find and appropriate circuit to connect it to.The unit comes with foam pads but there isn't any clear instruction on what to do with them (where they go). It appears that they get attached to the the top and bottom, providing padding for your phone. But what if your phone has a case on it? Will the foam padding and the case raise the phone away from the charger? This review is not complete as I haven't been able to get it installed as I will have to take a portion of the motorcycle apart to get this new one put on like a professional installation. I will let you know how this one goes... the Jury is still OUT!Previous purchase:Prior to the purchase and installation of this unit I have not had any power issues. I was also a bit surprised at the price. It was a good deal. As the old adage say, "If it seems too good to be true, it probably is." That adage seems to fit this product. The couple of other guys that have reviewed this item seem to have had decent luck with the item so maybe I got the lemon of the lot.My first concern about this unit was the gauge (thickness) of the lead wires. They are very thin; about 24 gauge yet they are meant to draw power directly from the battery. The instructions state that this item should be wired directly to the battery. I attempted to conduct a test prior to actually taking my motorcycle apart to install it without knowing for certain that it would work with my phone. I have several battery pigtails attached to my motorcycle and attempted to use those to check the charger without any luck. When it all got said and done, I had to take half of my motorcycle apart to get to the battery so I could test it directly on the battery. The wire was so thin that when I went to hold the wire to the battery terminal that it burned my finger. Because the wire was so flimsy I had to hold them with screw drivers to the posts. Doing that I finally got the desired result... the charger works. It was late Friday evening and I would finish the job Saturday morning.Saturday - install the charger and find out why it wouldn't work with the pigtails. Before installing the charger I decided that I wanted to conduct an Amperage draw test to find out just how much juice this thing was pulling because when I checked the pigtails on my battery, I found that the fuses on all of them were blown (they worked fine before the test). The pigtails on my motorcycle have 7.5A fuses. I set up the test and found that when the phone is not on the charger, the draw is 0.3A. As soon as I put my phone in the holder, it jumped to 7.6A and then up to 8.0A. No wonder all the fuses on the pigtails popped. 8A x 12V = 96W That's a lot of juice to be drawing through those little bitty wires.According to the box, it says that the output is only 10W. Where's the rest of that energy going?? Now I have a Harley Davidson Electra-glide Ultra Classic. It has a cigarette lighter on the fairing and it is on the Accessories circuit. Guess what?? I was not going to wire that little bitty wire directly to my battery. I wanted that bad boy on a protected circuit in case it wanted to get a bit crazy on the power draw; also it gets turned off when I turn off the bike. No accidental draining of the battery by leaving the phone on the charger.Because it is "digital," the charger turns on as soon as the phone is placed in the charger. Since installing the charger on the motorcycle, my motorcycle has failed to start twice. Thankfully, they both occurred at the house. The first time was when I went to leave and the second was after arriving home and I stopped and turned off the motorcycle to bring it inside the gate. Upon returning to the motorcycle (and my phone was in the charger) to park it in my yard, the motorcycle failed to start. Twice since installing this charger. As I was home and not too concerned about where it was parked at the time, I left it. Later I went to move it to the yard and had an issue where I needed to get on the bike to finish moving it. (The bike and I were not going to fit through the gate side by side as it barely fits through the gate as it is.) I had a difficulty in pushing it, so I thought that if I could just use the starter to get me over obstacle. Instead of just getting me by, the bike actually started. Huh?? Then I realized that the phone was no longer in the charging unit and it wasn't drawing all the juice while I was starting the motorcycle. After this second occurrence of the motorcycle not wanting to start, I was doubting my motorcycle, the battery and the charging system. I pulled my battery out to have a CCA test conducted and it passed. Did it damage or is my charging system not working correctly. I took my motorcycle to my shop and had the mechanic check the charging system. (When I put the battery back in, I disconnected the charger). I stopped by the shop and the mechanic checked the battery, again and checked the charging system. It is A-OK; working properly. So the issues do not stem from a faulty battery or some other electrical issue with my motorcycle. It has to be this wireless charger. I don't know if I ended up drawing the short straw, but it appears that got a faulty charger or this thing just draws a lot of power. My suggestions to the manufacturer/developer:1. Put thicker wire leads on this thing.2. Include a power switch so it can be turned on and off. If you don't want to run the charger or you don't want it drawing on the system while your trying to start your bike, it won't.

Good Mount and charger
Like the easy on/off. Like the charging. OK with the position. I had to Mount it on my mirror and would have preferred a lower location but it hits my tank. Also, because I don’t like dead batteries, I wired it into my right turn signal. That wiring was easier to access then the headlight. Now it doesn’t charge when right signal is on but that is not the fault of the product. It’s steady as can be expected considering road conditions and bike vibrations. Going to enjoy it.

Your phone can still fall off your bike
This item worked very well for five weeks. Then suddenly one of the corner holders broke off while I was riding, and my phone fell off my bike and slid down the highway.I do not know the exact reason this happened, but it did. I was fortunate in my phone and I burst into pieces. I do have an OtterBox on it. Otherwise, the holder is good. I did order another one, however. But I will keep a rubber band around the entire Unit while my phone is up to it.

Would of got 5 stars if it came with a clamp for the long bracket
Very happy! Easy to use! My phone just snaps in place with one hand and is secure. I like the built in wire that you run all the way to your fuse box.Keeps everything neat. It's secure enough that I had no problem riding my motorcycle at 80 mph with no wind shield and my phone out in the breeze.the long bracket that comes with it as an option is only designed to attach to the mirror bolt.Would of liked another clamp to go around the handle bars for that one for more location options.

Regalo perfecto
Me encanta,.....ahora bien, lo compre para mí motora honda vtx 1300 R y no encaja en el manubrio pero se lo regale a mi primo que tiene una Harley Davidson y cae perfecto.

Nice but not perfect
I have the older style which I really like. Thus is the update but their updates are downgrades not upgrades. The way it mounts to the bike now sucks and the adjustment to orient the phone won't tighten tight enough to keep the phone still. I'd still buy it over the other options due to the way the phone actually goes into the charger and how well it does charge.

Fantastic accessory with some small issues that do not affect my buying again decision.
I bought this in Nov 2019, installed the same week on a 2015 Softail. I ride a fair amount so some wear and tear should be expected...I have an iPhone X in an otter box defender case, and it charges the phone fast and without issue, in fact it works far better than I expected. The ram mount is secure and shows hardly minimal vibration, it is a nice setup and worth the price point. The lower retention arms over about 2k miles, have developed cracks in the corners from the inner edge to the rubber vibration dampers but this seems to not affect how securely it retains the phone. These cracks could be due to the thickness of the case as it is pretty snug. but I suspect it's a combination of things to include the case, how tight I tighten the retainer, and vibration of a big v-twin, so it is something to pay attention to. I would and have purchased a second one for another bike in my garage. It does require a 3 Amp circuit as others have noted, or a circuit that has the capability of carrying the additional 3 amps at full load. I installed my with an inline fuse and used an HD accessory plug to avoid cutting into a harness.I hope this helps those questioning how great this product actually is, I have recommended it to many fellow enthusiasts.

Easy to mount.
Screw know when tightened doesn't hold firm enough

Handle bar mount doesn’t fit fat bars
I had to use the mirror mount and attach it to the windshield, the clamp for the handle bars was to small for my bars. If they had a bigger clamp it would have been much better. Now I have to leave the windshield on till I find a ball mount for my handle bars. Other than that it hold the phone quite well, and the charger even works through the case, it’s a iPhone 8

Samsung flip won't charge
Due to the wireless charger being in the center of the mount it does not charge the Samsung flip as the wireless inductor is in the lower end of the phone. It did have the USB port on it so I can charge my phone still, or I can lay it closed in the cradle and it will charge wireless. Cradle won't hold phone while closed so don't ride with it.

Can't find words to say how happy I am!
We do LOTS of touring in all kind of weather with navigator (all the time). connecting and disconnecting phone on every stop was a pain. I have seen "unplug charger due to moisture ..." message on phone countless times! Also my old holder had a small button to start charging (with my gloves on!!) each time I start the engine (I already have a switched 12v for phone)! anyway, long story short, for me this is not a holder/charger. THIS IS A DREAM COME TRUE!!!
