Aristo 3H80 42mm Quartz Pilot's Watch with Sandblasted Case

In 2005 Vollmer bought Aristo and produced 4 quartz watches to test in the American market. The test failed. One of the 4 had the same watch face as this one. But it was a 38mm face (this one is 42mm) the watch was a very thin 9 mm (this one is a slightly bulkier 11mm) and it had a fairly uninteresting black strap (this one is tan.) This new quartz watch came out last year with an Aristo name on its face rather than the vollmer name as on the previous quartz models, and is doing very well in both european and american markets. History - The face design was designed for the WWII Luftwaffen so the pilot could easily count seconds between bomb release and explosion. It was manufactured by a few Swiss and German watch companies, including Aristo. The design is ofter called a "doctor's watch" as the watch face makes it easy to take a patient's pulse, and calling it a nazi watch would probably hurt sales.

What you get for $165.00:a. The quality of a $20.00 Timex watch you picked up on the fly at Target.b. A second hand that may as well not be there as it hasn't hit its mark once.c. A minute hand that cannot be set to hit the minutes because the slightest push on the crown knocks it down or up two minutes. And, when you do manage to hit the minute marker when you set the watch, on the next minute it either comes up short or overshoots the minute mark entirely.Why is that Seiko and its affiliates never have this problem? Save your money. This watch is an absolute atrocity.

This is a absolutely authentic Flieger B rendition of the wathes used for navigation and precision bombing. While that is a dark subject to contemplate, it is nonetheless extremely visible, good lume, comfortable on the wrist and if that weren't enough, it is an Aristo, a very well respected name in German made watches.

I wear mine everyday , I love it . Looks just like the originals from the 1930's .
