The movie keeps you in suspense

I enjoy watching it from time to time because Kristen Stewart is in it and she is just as bland and emotionless as she is in Twilight, and sometimes the only spice I’m in the mood for is bleached-white flour. Stephen Dorff is also a gem! His constant need to marinate in baby oil before putting down his blu e-cig and terrorizing this family is absolutely Oscar-worthy! His affection for snakes in this film is heartwarming. Dennis Quaid (Discount Harrison Ford) has his moments, and deep down he thinks we will believe that his new starring role in The Intruder (a film about a man who terrorizes a family after they move into his old house) has nothing to do with Dorff’s role in Cold Creek Manor (a film about a man who terrorizes a family after they move into his old house). Oh Dennis! You sneak! Hats off to Sharon Stone for really digging deep into the shallow character of a wealthy W.A.S.P. who is deathly afraid of any human that dares dwell outside the civilized limits of Westchester County. Her fear and classist disgust is palpable! All around a terrible film, but I always enjoy a good laugh while decent actors try their best at a ridiculous premise, talentless costars, and a poorly written script. 5 Stars!

Would rent again

This movie should have been better with a good cast of actors and excellent photography. The problem is the movie followed the standard fare that so many of the couple's moves to the country movie have done over and over previously. A couple moves their family from the city to an old Farmhouse to settle in for a peaceful life and the past history of the home catches up with them. The movie was so predictable. It needed some surprising twists thrown in, but they never come. Very Generic Movie throughout with little chance for the good actors to save it.

Great movie

This is one of my wife's favorite movies because she says that it has a little bit over everything, mystery, elements of horror, a true thriller.

This is a dark, don't-see-this-one-to-feel-good movie. But it is highly instructive of how manipulators can get across other people's personal boundaries and play the situation (and create it) in order to feed their own agendas.I actually refer to parts of this movie in seminars and a workbook on avoiding harmful relationships, especially the scene where Dale strolls right into Cooper and Lea's home, an invasion that would normally been seen and reacted to as such, and yet Dale twisted it around so adeptly that he was invited to stay for a meal! This is a classic example of how manipulators cross boundaries (and how often we don't set solid limits of what we will and will not tolerate).

I personally love this film, it has everything u need for a modern day horror. It's not all blood and gore it's more mentally horror...A family move into a old house that has been reprocessed and the old owner turns up and isn't too happy. The bad thing is I find him really sexy and he is the murderer! Oops is
