Use metal or glass
Contains acetone: Do NOT put into a red solo beverage cup. It will eat through the bottom in 5 minutes. Pour it into a glass jar or metal can to apply it.

Great product.
I had a lot of rotted 2 x 4 hand rail ends on my OLD deck. This was a prep as recommended before using "Wood-epox" filler.

Be sure to protect from water
Somehow I though this has some water resistance. I know the can says to paint it, but I thought an oil based liquid hardener would have some water resistance for a short time. With the frequent rainy days this year, I have not had long enough stretches of dry days to get the wood dried, repairs dried, and then painted. The bright side is I got some on my pants and after it dried I was able to scratch it almost all off with my fingernail, no visible stain or damage left after I washed it. All three can received were dented but they are each inside its own plastic bag and there was no problem using the first can. I wish I can return the other two because they're not what I expected but these are non-returnable.

Finally a new lid!!!
Been using this stuff for years, it works great for fortifying rotten wood that I use for sculpture as well as sealing damage around the house because beach life makes for unstable structures. The worst thing about this stuff has always been the impossible lid… get gloves and pliers and maybe a hammer if you want to use it more than once. This one came and… new improved lid after unknown decades!New lid isn’t perfect, the bottom piece will spin a bit if it isn’t held while you turn the cap, but for anyone who’s spent more time than they care to admit cussing at an aluminum cap, it’s a game changer.Just don’t get it wet within a few days of applying, the resin will get snowy looking and it’s not fun to get that bloom off.

Hardens Soft Wood - as a Preparation
I had read to use a sponge paint brush - DON'T! Just as I thought, the brush demolished. Although the can instructions say use a paint brush, after the failed sponge brush, I ended up pouring the Hardener in a Spray Bottle, which worked better for me.Overnight, I checked and the soft wood did harden - not sure if hard enough to sand tho, at least hard enough to proceed with next DIY Step, such as "building" around the area, with filler.I would have preferred that the HARDENER came in a Spray Bottle instead of a can.I have not decided my next DIY step next. I have not yet purchased the FILLER.I would recommend MINWAX WOOD HARDENER.

Wonderful item.
Used this product with tissue paper to make a stained glass craft project. Sealed wonderful. Little goes a long way in craft applications. Sealed the tissue paper enough to be weather resistant(not weather proof but I talking about paper)
