HIGH NOON (Masters of Cinema) Blu-ray STANDARD EDITION REISSUE

The film is iconic and without a doubt one of the best Westerns, great cast, great story, can't go wrong. The Eureka remastering is brilliant, the picture quality is amazing.

Do not forsake me oh my darling..... The iconic song from Tex Ritter, the singing cowboy. It tells the story of the film but not why a young (Grace Kelly was 25) woman, Amy Kane wants to marry a man old enough to be her father. Cooper was just the wrong side of fifty when he made the film and he looked older and still not recovered from a hernia operation and then injured his back during rehearsals. The average age of men in the west in the 1870s was 45 so the character Will Kane was already on borrowed time. It is not the fact he has to take on four gunman that occupied my thoughts so much as would he survive the wedding ceremony? It is a male, middle aged executive dominated Hollywood film in that sense, so many old film stars have really young co-stars. That little flaw aside it is a really good film. Good story, good script, good supporting actors and a moral question asked, reflecting the ethics and hypocrisy of the McCarthy witch hunt of Hollywood liberals and 'commies' as the film was being made. Oh and a bit of shooting as in a proper western.

When it comes to western films, 'High Noon' is one of the classics. You feel for Gary Cooper as he faces the baddies with no one lifting a finger to help him. To stubborn to just quit his job as the towns sheriff & head for the hills with his new wife played by the lovely Grace Kelly. The tension builds up as the clock reaches high noon & the train pulls in to the station with the last of the badmen aboard, meeting his fellow outlaws.A good Western all round, which is great to watch on blu ray in high definition. The blu ray also comes with a very informative booklet & some lovely photos from the film. A must for any Western fan!

Looks great. Gary Cooper was not the first choice for the starring role but was perfect and one cannot imagine the film without him. Includes many extra features.

Anyone who likes classic westerns high noon is definitely a must buy picture and sound is just amazing a beautiful release on blu ray buy it you definitely won’t be disappointed ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Arrived on time and in perfect shape. Is as good a transfer of High Noon as i have seen. Very clean copy, looks like it was restored with care. Comes with booklet. Eureka did a good job from design to packaging/assembly of product. Thanks for putting out such a stellar copy of a classic!

had the Olive release but this one had even more and different special features so had to doble dip, was weeks early which is always nice

A classic Western movie that changed the lead of the typical stereotypical hero.

The movie is great and I was looking forward to seeing it again but it's region B Europe! No indication on the Amazon entry. I searched multiple releases of this movie to find one thar wasn't Region B and this one didn't specify. Can't play it without a region free player which I don't own. The product is excellent, shipping was great, just be aware of the region lock!
